[She hasn't openly acknowledged Lord Saxon's other name until now, either, because he'd told her she could continue to call him what she liked during some event or other.]
In any case, I am glad that you have admitted the fault was your own for it. He has had enough of blame and castigation here. Something cold will help with the swelling. Nanny would oft fetch Tybalt slabs of cold meat for his bruises, to help them calm, when we were younger, and I would sit with him and listen to him complain they were not needed, and entreat him to take them, for my sake. He does not like to admit weakness of any sort, my cousin.

Lord Saxon has said that we are friends? It was kind of him to speak of me. But then, he is kind, despite what your friends will say of him.

Just because he has the capability to be kind, doesn't necessarily mean he always is. My friends have a reason to say what they do about him. He's hurt them in the worst ways.

Has he not been hurt as well? He told me of such things - injustices and deaths inflicted upon him in the past. Here, he has done nothing to harm anyone, and yet people wish him harm. It is like Verona. One of them threatened his very life, Doctor.
One of your friends spoke of such to me, though. And he has admitted to doing horrible things in his past. I am not naive regarding him. But I dislike being told to be wary of someone who has proved himself a friend and saved my life twice.

Don't think I'm telling you to stay away from him. He seems to genuinely like you. I'm not entirely sure what that means for you, but I think you'll be alright.

I am glad for that. He has spoken often of how he wishes you would make amends and become friends again. And I thank you for not trying to change my mind. I consider him a good friend.
[She nods.]
Yes. I was attacked in the summertime. Someone branded words, a line of verse, onto my neck. Lord Saxon found me near the Wastes. And then, not too long ago, a man named Madara kidnapped me and several others. Lord Saxon was one of the men who came to our rescue, who had fought off Madara's mind-tricks to save us.

[He listens quietly, silently astonished that the Master's capable of such good after all the torment he's caused. It's...reassuring. It means there's still something left of Koschei in him.]

He has. He said that you and he were once good friends, but that - that things changed over time, and wrongs were done on both parts.
[She will not speak of detail, though. It is not her place. And certainly not her place to speak of love, as that was told to her in a moment of confidence.]
He has been selfless here, Doctor. The first time I truly spoke with Lord Saxon, he was keeping watch over a fire, which had sparked in an abandoned building. He was watching it to ensure it did not grow and move to inhabited buildings or nearby trees. He was most diligent.

[He sort of doubts that the Master's been entirely selfless here. That's just not part of his character. It hasn't been for a long time. He wouldn't be surprised if the Master had started said fire in the first place.]
