[Have a face right up in the camera, but not a complete face, just eyes framed by plastic brown frames, eyebrows raised in surprise, and the top half of a nose]
Hello? Can anyone hear me?
[There's some shifting around, the screen goes black for a moment, and there's an odd buzzing sound, followed by a smack and a frustrated sigh.] Oh come on...

I can hear you! Doctor, it is good to see you back. You can use my sonic to fix yours, if you need to. I'm sure you put a setting on it for that, given everything else it does.
[Then, more quietly.]
I've missed you.

[He's more than happy to see her, his face splitting into a bright grin.]
How are you? How long has it been now? Is K-9 with you?
[He missed her too, it's clear there in his eyes and the gentle smile.]

I'm fine, I've been fine. No, K9's still back on Bannerman Road with -
[She pauses, thinking.]
When is the last time you saw me, Doctor?
[Have we done the Medusa Cascade, and have you crashed my not-quite-wedding yet?]

[And, knowing what she knows about Adstringendum, she's going to tell him at least some of it.]
Did you hear about the Bubble Shock incident, by any chance? The orange-pop craze a few years back? After that business at Deffry Vale, maybe about a year after, Earth time.

[It's what she loves about him, how he can be so fascinated by everything.]
Long story short, the Bubble Shock was an attempted invasion by aliens called the Bane. They genetically engineered a human to record data and help them perfect the pop so that everyone would drink it and ingest a portion of the Bane mother, which would allow them to control the planet. The boy escaped, thanks to my friend Maria, and after we put a stop to the invasion, I adopted him - well, Mr. Smith made it look like an adoption. He's good at that sort of thing. So I have a son now, called Luke. Working toward his GSCEs.

But what's this about a Mr. Smith?

Mr. Smith? He's a Xylok I found and built a computer to house. He lives in the attic with K9. You should listen to the two of them go at it. It's like a competition for which one can be more useful sometimes. I'd almost think they were jealous of each other.

[And for one selfish moment, she wishes Luke were here, because he'd adore meeting the Doctor properly. The few moments they'd worked together at her almost-wedding didn't really count as a proper meeting.]

[And she grins.]
Oh, you'll never guess where I've set up shop here.

Give me a moment to get outside and I'll show you.
[And once she's on the far side of the lake, she turns the PCD round to give the Doctor a full view of Fallingwater.]
Jack and his lot live here, too. Well, some of them, at least. And Martha. Isn't it fantastic?
