Totally went to see Yatterman today. I really want to know what sort of crack Takashi Miike is on, because that one amazing and ridiculous. Seriously. OMG.
So, after a brief battle with talking to the bank overseas (which was much harder than it should have been), I found myself in Ginza standing between Seibu Department store and Ginza Picadilly (movie theater) where Yatterman was playing. I had been planning on seeing it today in Ikebukuro, but hey - the price here was the same (1000en because of Ladies' Day!) and the showing was in like 20 minutes, so I figured why not just see it here? So I got my ticket and found my way to the theater.
I never knew that movie theaters in Japan had assigned seating. Somehow it's unsurprising, but I never really thought about it. And they have stuff like coffee and cocoa, too! Wish we had that at American theaters. (If I'm just completely a space case, and that exists, please tell me so I can get cocoa the next time I'm at the theater.)
Even though it was a "kids" action movie, there were plenty of adult jokes. More blatant than Shrek, that's for sure. Also - I'm still unsure about that damn dinosaur. Like. Really, now.
All in all, it was a very entertaining movie, and somehow, I think that seeing it on the big screen made it even more ridiculous. I'll refrain from general fangirling for the time being though. <3
Next movie on the list........ DROP. (Mizushima Hiro~~~)
