Never drinking coffee on an empty stomach again

Sep 30, 2010 15:23

Mistake of the day: drinking a large Styrofoam cup of $1.00 coffee on an empty stomach. And I pumped it full of sugar and creamer too. Gah. I feel ill and jittery and I just want it to stop!

Awesome of the day: I GOT A COURTESY WAVE. MY FIRST ONE RECEIVED WHILE DRIVING ALONE.

Amazing Feat of the Week: DRIVING BY MYSELF. I HAVE DONE IT FOR TWO DAYS NOW. And there was no crashes, no near crashes, and only one time where I got honked at. Did I make mistakes? Sure I did. But every day I get better I hope. And all of this driving has been done in the rain. I also drove across county to Layne's and back on my own. And I've driven myself and my brother around our neighborhood on errands.

Things to Master: backing into parking spaces. At the moment I don't do it. I pull through if I can. I just...suck at backing up into lines. But I can reverse to get out of a parking spot or a driveway so at least there is that.

Other cool stuff: I am now a substitute teacher. I just gotta go market myself. Apparently the schools need subs like crazy, which makes no sense to me but if it means I will be employed every day of the week from now on, I will take it.

I will also be going to NYC on October 7th and on October 10th. I'll be in New Jersey and Delaware between the two dates, and on the 11th and 12th. So I will be out of town for about a week. Just so you know.

Also My birthday is next Wednesday. Please send me birthday wishes? I know gifts/cards = money and as someone who has little to spare, I understand I will probably get nothing. But a text/IM/phone call/email/LJ PM/comment on an entry saying I AM GLAD YOU WERE BORN, PLEASE STAY AWESOME would be MUCH appreciated. 8;D

He's a black New Yorker who teaches English in Japan and the entries he's writing are beyond amazing and insightful. He gives ME new insight, and expresses some of the things I've experienced perfectly. So check it out if you're curious about how life in Japan is for foreigners and half-Japanese kids.

good day, driving, work, layne, vacation, birthday
