Since I should be sleeping, I will make this quick.
Osaka has been fun. Didn't get to see anyone except for Yuko and Miyo and her baby Ai-chan one night. Ai-chan, 8 months later, apparently now hates foreigners. Or she was hungry. When I first met her she was all smiles and cuddles and very little. Now she's cries at the sight of me. But apparently she does this to grandma and grandpa too. Maybe it is a baby phase.
I swear to God I never saw any other foreigners. If everyone is on break, they aren't in Osaka.
I did help some Chinese lady though with directions.
I swear to God every time I walked into any store that played anime music, I would hear the songs off of America's Character CD. I cracked up each time but there's something creepy about hearing it EVERYWHERE. Especially since his CDs aren't like ever sold out ahahahha...ha...maybe they saw me walk in and were like QUICK GET TO THE AMERICA TRACK, SHE'LL LIKE IT, SHE'S AMERICAN, EVEN THOUGH SHE COULD BE FROM LIKE FRANCE AND WE'D NEVER KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!
WHY DOES OSAKA HAVE LIKE NOODLES EVERYWHERE?! I AM SICK OF NOODLES. I NEVER WANT TO EAT SOBA OR UDON EVER AGAIN. EVER. EVVVVEEERRR.
But this is the kicker guys
MY US PHONE
DECIDED
TO LIKE...
SELF-DESTRUCT. 8;D
Now, US phones, or phones made for use in the US, are meant to handle lots of power. Japan uses lower voltage. Which means a longer charge time for 2-prong US items, or the need of a converter set. Well it's a 4 year old Samsung Verizon phone. Maybe it's 5 years old...I dunno I got it in 2006. This thing has served me well. It's gotten hot while I've talked for hours, sure. It's lost a charge just sitting around doing nothing. It's an OLD phone. But it worked 8 months ago. Then I turned it off and left it in a safe place until tonight.
And tonight it was charging just fine, and then I look back a bit later - like maybe not even 30 minutes later, possibly less, aaaaand the charging light is off. The screens are dead. And it's hotter than hell.
There is no way the voltage here fried that mother fucker.
All I can think of is the battery had one last hurrah and decided to...overheat I guess. I've left it alone for hours now but it still won't turn on.
This is very very very bad. Because...now, I have no one's number. 8D
Annnnnnnnnd now I have no way of letting people know I've reached the US just fine. 8;D
And since it's technically my father's phone, I can't go up to a Verizon store and be like GIMME A NEW PHONE BITCH. Well, I could but, um, how am I supposed to pay for it? 8;D AND DO AIRPORTS EVEN HAVE FULL FLEDGE PHONE STORES?!
Sooooo yeaaaaah. Not cool. Not cool at all. I really hope it turns on tomorrow. I just need you to last me until I get to Raeanna's. Please. Come on phone. Do it for me. The Japanese phone won't work in America!
It's just not my night is it. 8;D
