I came here to make you sleep tonight

Jan 21, 2009 21:34

I didn't get much sleep last night. I don't know why. UGH.

So on my little bit of sleep I went to work. I'm back at Dai San now.

I love Mayumi. I really do. No one else can make me spill sugar everywhere while pretending to do the X jump. (For the record, she asked if I was okay.) She will talk to me about anything, and will listen to me ramble on about X Japan for like 30 minutes straight. I probably shouldn't talk to her as much but I like to. I should inquire after her birthday - I think I'd like to get her a present, though what I wouldn't know. We have more inside jokes about X Japan and the kids then anything else...

Classes:

just 2nd grade, which could have been postponed but the kids knew I was coming and were excited. So we had class. It wasn't the best of classes, but I tried and the teacher tried and the kids still had fun. We ate lunch together and we then played tag together. I suck at tag because I suck at running for long periods of time.

Did I mention how kids will grab my hand and proclaim I am warm? Because they do.

I spent the rest of the day preparing for classes but with my brain NOT functioning, I ended up not really being effective in time management. But Tatsuzaki-sensei came to my rescue and is helping prep for the third year classes tomorrow. Thank god. We're doing numbers. The kids are going to go insane with boredom. But we'll try. I want to come up with good, fun games, but they're prep intensive and I don't have much prep time.

So totally not amused by only getting a copy of the sixth grade lesson plan before they all went into a meeting and I had to leave. I have sixth grade tomorrow. We have not conferred on what the hell we are doing. It might suck. Can it be April now so I get copies of these fucking books that I can look at on my own time?

Lots of kids are out sick with the flu. This means more free milk for me!

And that is that.

And now I need to translate Toshi's blog. It's a long one but he's covering several days in one entry. His wife is still hilarious. She's apparently noticed that people hate her simply because she married the greatest man in the world. I can't really hate her as she is really cute. Maybe if she was a bitch who like...did bitchy not-cool things to him. But she seems like a nice lady. And she posts about him sleeping. (Mayumi teased me about this. "You can't sleep because you want to read about Toshi's life! Hehehehe!") Any wife who goes so far as to give us live reports on her husband snoozing the day away wins in my book.

By the way, Toshi told her to write more about their married life. He wants her to show them what they're like. This...is awesome because he seems like such a private guy yet he encourages his wife to write about them. I'm glad he approves.
