As some of you have experienced over the years, I am a fan of randomly sending snail mail throughout the years. I rarely do anything during the actual holiday season, because that's when you're already getting stuff and I'd rather send a nice pick-me-up during a duller time of year, but I do bookmark all of you guys wishlist post, as well as anybody from
holiday_wishes that I think I can help, and posts of yours that mention random stuff. Obviously, because of my financial situation, I'm not going to be able to do much at the moment but hopefully that will change at some point. Plus, there are always post cards and the inexpensive like. (
thelackoflight could probably wallpaper a whole closet with all of the ones I've sent her over the years lol.)
So I figured I'd do a wishlist post, because it's always fun to think about, and I hope you'll link me to yours as well (there's always a chance that I've missed it). Even though my family isn't really doing the Christmas thing this year, my mom is planning on getting me a few things so I'm probably going to give her a modified version of this list so she has lots of choices.
Without further ado... HERE'S WHAT I HOPE SANTA BRINGS ME FOR CHRISTMAS.
01. Extra userpic time. My icons were suppose to run out this month but the super-sweet
ginger_noodle bought me another month. I'm hoping I'll get some Christmas money from my mother (which she always insists that I use irresponsibly) and, while that won't be a lot, it should be enough to renew my userpics. However, if you can spare a month or two, I'd really appreciate it.
02. Books. If you have some old/inexpensive/paperback books lying around that you're not going to be rereading anytime, I'd love for you to send them my way, but otherwise I'll be thrilled with just good recommendations. My favorite authors are Sarah Dessen (really good teen novels) and Chuck Palahniuk (obviously more serious and fucked up - which is always fun).
03. A video editing program that will work on a Mac. Can someone pull a Mac equivalent of Windows Movie Maker out of their ass please? K, THNX. I'd really like to be able to make episode clips for my site again. I don't care if the program is a pain in the ass, just so long as it works.
04. Snail mail brightens up my day like no other, especially when the post card is pretty or there's random stuff shoved in the envelope. (Like those lovely thumbtacks I send to
10roads *bats eyelashes*)
05. New music. I lost a lot of my stuff a while back and wasn't able to recover it so I'm still finding that albums I used to love are missing from my collection. So any music is good, but I would love The All-American Rejects new album or any albums by Death Cab for Cutie (that aren't Narrow Stairs or Plans).
06. Anything with a superhero on it. (My favorites are Batman, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman) Seriously. Thanks to the Target dollar aisle a while back, I have pens, notebooks, folders, post-its... there's even a little Batman whiteboard on my fridge, and I can't get enough. Every time I finish a pack of the post-its or another pen runs out of ink, I get a little sad on the inside. Even if it's made for kids and you think it's kind of lame, I'll probably love it exponentially.
07. The December issue of Austin magazine, (
here) which has the cast of Friday Night Lights on the cover. I'm coveting it so much right now that it's ridiculous and I need it for my fansites but I really just want it and nobody has scans of it up. *whine*
08. Anything off my Amazon wishlist. All completely random nine items can be found
here. (On a side note: That thing is so freakin' handy! I love that you can add stuff from other sites.)
09. For you to link me to your own wishlists. I know I already said this, but it needs to be said again because you guys never listen to me when I say this. I WANT TO SAVE THEM FOR LATER USE, DAMN IT.
10. For you to have a happy holiday. Yes, I'm lame. I'm cheesy. I'm also OCD and need an even ten items for this list. Sue me.
PS. Friends can view my contact info
here and anybody else needs it, you can email me (hider@hellisbreaking.com) and I'll be happy to give it to you.
