01. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween last night! I myself didn't do anything special. I'm not really into the party scene, which is what my roommates and most of my local friends ended up doing, and I never got around to coming up with a costume anyway, so I me and Blaire are just chilled at his place. He wanted to watch Hocus Pocus but we couldn't find it anywhere, and he refused to watch Halloweentown with me, so we watched Nightmare Before Christmas (which I had never seen) and Mean Girls (hey, it has a Halloween scene in it!).
02. I reinstated my Netflix recently even though I'm broke because I figured a monthly subscription will cost less than me going out because I got bored. First up was Circadian Rhythm and all I have to say is, poor David Anders. He deserves so much better than that piece of crap. It was going for psychological thriller and just ended up being stupid and confusing. Plus, I'm pretty sure that was the lowest production value I have ever seen... and I'm in art school. On the other hand, Prom Night was a lot better. I wasn't expecting much and it was far from amazing but it was really enjoyable and I love me some Scott Porter. I expected him to be killed off first but was happily surprised when that wasn't the case. Brittany did a really good job in it as well and Jessica Stroup didn't look anorexic at all so there's that too.

Ugly Betty
I'm soooo glad Kimmy is gone. Hate that bitch. And not in the fun way, in the I really wanna kick her ass way. I like that Betty played a little dirty, I think you kind of have to in that situation. Otherwise you're basically just being a doormat. I'm glad she stood up for herself. Kimmy shouldn't have relied so much on other people's opinions anyway. If she was actually good at her job in the first place, Marc and Amanda's little plan wouldn't have worked at all.
I'm glad Daniel's little plan worked to, I didn't see their friendship coming. I honestly thought that it would play out differently. There was all this implication on Wilehmenia's part that Daniel's reasons for hating the guy were petty so when they went into the office, I figured we'd find out the reason for their animosity and that it would be anything but petty, making Daniel the bigger person and all that. It would have worked out cool because usually it's him and Betty the other way around, with him playing dirty and all. I like that he's being sneaky and finding a way to overrule Wilehmenia in some ways though.
I was so glad for the Cliff appearance! Even if it was teeny tiny. I hope he pops back up again soon. The neighbor boy is cute, not as cute as Gio, but I can deal with that. Though, judging by spoilers I've read, their setting up something different than what I originally expected.
Isn't it about time for Christina to give birth already?

Friday Night Lights
Tim and that damn Rat quote. Geesh. Buddy said the line like a scary motivational speaker but, when Tim said it, it was like he was being profound... which made it funny because it was coming from him. BUT OH MY JASON. How I missed you. *squishes* I hadn't thought about the fact that nine months had passed since their one night stand and that the baby would already be born and all. I love Papa!Street just as much as I thought I would.
It's kind of obvious that Jason's going to move back east with his baby's mama. I don't have a specific feeling o her but I tend to like her more than not and, more importantly, I just want Jason to be happy and to have a family. I'd rather it be in Dillon but I'll take what I can get. I guess I'm just skeptical because both of the obstacles he was given in this episode, he overcame by using his status as a former football star. He won't be able to do that in another town. I guess that's both a good thing and a bad thing. But, for his sake, I hope the house things work out.
As far as wild Tyra goes, I like the cowboy, I do. He's cute, charming, and seems like a sweetheart, but he was never going to be Landry and now he's a bad influence on top of that. I understand more than a lot of people how it's easy to slip back into something that's comfortable and be with someone that doesn't challenge you or make you feel like you have to better than you are, but that's not good for people like Tyra. People who want to make themselves better and get somewhere new need someone who is going challenge them but also still be supportive. Tyra needs that and she needs Landry. I know the cowboy thing is just a temporary relapse but I'm ready for the temporary thing to kick in any day now, and I have a feeling the drug habit's going to make that happen soon.
Everything I love about Matt was in this episode. That scene with Coach in the locker room was awesome. And SO true. They're both going to hate it. Hate it like I hate the town of Dillon for having such a short memory. None of them remember when he dealt with all their negativity and proved them all wrong, when he didn't say I told you so afterwards, and when he won them the State Championship. And that makes me so fucking mad, but the thing is that all along they needed him but he didn't really need them. Guys like McCoy are football players. Guys like Matt are people who use football to get someplace better. And we all know that Matt is going to get to that place. If he has help getting there, then that's all the better, but if he doesn't he'll still make it on his own. He's proved that much. Plus, I suspect he'll have Julie soon anyway. (Or we can all hope so, anyway.) The mom I'm not so sure about. I don't dislike her but, like Matt, I'm skeptical. I will give in and admit that her scene with Matt was cute. I'm glad he has someone to talk to it about. However: I LIKE GRAPE JELLY. Grape > Strawberry. Duh.
Oh, and as far as Julie's random plot line goes: take a chill pill Mama Taylor. Their reaction to the whole thing was over the top. I understand they were caught off the guard and, since Coach is always kind of a loud hothead, he gets a pass, but she needs to take a breather. "You have permanently marred your skin!!!!" was a little extreme. It was on her ankle and the size of a quarter. What she should of focused on, in my opinion, was the fact that she did it without their permission. Attacking tattoos was kind of pointless because it's just a preference thing.
05. I finished that project I was talking about earlier, the one for my Digital Image Design class that I was using V for Vendetta for. The final piece is
here. It's my first real attempt at using vectors and only one part was done doing live trace, the rest I had to do with the pen tool, so let me know what you think.
ETA: I've started posting the prompt response ficlets in the comments on
this post. I'm still looking for more prompts though so do so if you wanna help a girl out ;)
