HIMYM.
So disappointed that Victoria left as quickly as she came. I really liked her. Why couldn't she be the mom???? I don't care if it goes against everything else Ted has ever said. He's an unreliable narrator! I could live with that.
Anyway, did not buy Victoria's parting advice to Ted. I think Robin has had absolutely nothing to do with the failure of Ted's (other) past relationships. I wonder if it's going to be like that fake out "when two exes decide to just be casual, someone always gets hurt." That ended up being about Barney and not Ted/Robin.
On a superficial note, I thought Alyson Hannigan looked smoking tonight.
And going back to last week, I'm not loving Nora's return. I liked her the first time around, but the fact that she's giving him a second chance doesn't work for me.
Glee.
What is going on? Up is down! Left is right! I am cheering on Will Schuester. MADNESS!
When Will mentioned he'd have someone else coming in to be the director I was *sure* he'd thoughtlessly asked Shelby to do it. I had my hate turned up to 11. But no. He was not at all involved with Shelby's return *and* when he found out she was back he instantly worried about Rachel. Awwwwww.
But let's not forget the best part. His epic smackdown on Quinn. I hated her behavior in this episode. Maybe this arc would be tolerable if we had any hint last season that she was angsting about Beth. Instead the timing makes it seem more like she's pissed about Finn and Rachel getting back together. Bad writers, bad!
Will rightly reminded her how Glee has supported her and that she can't blame him for becoming a trainwreck and, most importantly, she needs to GROW UP. Becky was right. That was damn sexy.
So so much rage at Shelby. Rachel almost went to therapy because of her! And yet Rachel can't help singing duets with her. The power of music is that strong. Sigh. I am just so pissed off at Shelby. She keeps talking to Quinn about regretting not being there for Rachel's firsts but she introduced herself into Rachel's life and basically told her remember I'm not your mom. I'm your birth mom. So basically I have no responsibility to you. Um what?
And then she talks to Quinn and talks about the measure of a real mother. WHAT? I definitely agree that giving up her daughter was for the best. Good on her for that. But the emotional wreckage she's created since she came back into her life does not qualify as doing 'right by [her] daughter.' DIE IN A FIRE.
The only good thing about her return was seeing Puck trying to become a part of his daughter's life. I love how he came all prepared with his drug results. And how he was afraid his drawing would scare her. And how he talked to Quinn about how she needed to step up.
Quinn rather not settle for being just a part of Beth's life. She decided that in the past year she's somehow become capable of raising a child. Yeah, okay, then.
Other:
- Rachel/Kurt BFF remains strong! He makes to sure to get written permission from her so he can sing a Stresand song.
- Brittany/Santana \0/
- I felt for Kurt. He likes who he is but feels that it's going to cost him career wise that he doesn't pass as straight.
- I figured Kurt would end up suggesting Blaine go for the lead after all. But that was probably expecting too much of him. I don't mean that in a snide way.
- They are really easing up with the songs, aren't they?
