HIMYM.
Now there's a awesome episode of HIMYM!
Barney's 'Somewhere in Time' ploy was hysterical. He really can spot bimbos.
Now I'm imagining an X-Files X-over fic where Barney keeps using this ploy on women until one woman happens to have a brother in the FBI... And it doesn't take long for Mulder to hear it and instantly be interested. It doesn't take long for Mulder and Scully to find out it isn't an X-Files (a lot longer for Mulder, though) and she gets to tease him mercilessly. And Barney offers to teach him a thing or two but under Scully's watchful eye declines and they leave. But Mulder quickly runs back into the bar and gives him his card. Oh yes.
Of course, being in my mid 20's this episode really got to me. They are all on the cusp of change and it didn't take much to freak Ted out and resulted in a domino effect of anxiety. I was right there with them and it's not my life! I just wanted my tv show to remain the same. I love that apartment too! But then Lilly smacked them out of it and unintentionally FakeOld!Barney helped bring home the point that it'd get pathetic to never move on. I guess I just need my own Lilly and Barney. Can I have my own Robin and Marshall too? They come in pairs! You can leave out 'pretentious, douchey' Ted (Right on, Robin).
All these little glimpses of the upcoming future are killing me. For a second I really thought we were going to stay at that 'one year later' time. Course then we'd never hear the story about the goat. And the goat's story needs to be heard. But really if Barney and Robin are together one year later which seems possible, I need it to be one year later NOW!
NCIS.
NCIS. For an episode of 'Look, I didn't come out of an egg! I have a daddy and corresponding daddy issues,' it was actually quite enjoyable. It was nice seeing the dad's perspective on how Gibbs handles other people as suspects and how he handles his own team.
It surprised me when I realized it at first, but I ship Gibbs/Abby. It's one of my more NEVER going to happen ships. But? That ending flashback of Gibbs meeting his wife Shannon??? I LOVED THAT. I so ship Gibbs/Shannon now. Alas, it doesn't have a happy ending.
Nitpick: Didn't The Rules come from his old mentor? Now are they saying they came from Shannon?
Debate tonight. I hope with all my might McCain actually brings up Ayers. I want Obama's takedown on that in SLO-MO.
