Psych.
I'm so glad Psych has returned. I feel like people enjoyed the last season a lot more than I did, but I am really feeling this season so far.
Ah, Shawn, you Judd Nelson-ID appropriating, 80's referencing, Gus prop-giving, tie-wearing, regretful Shawn.
Gus, you overbearing coordinator, voted most likely to succeed, mucus reducer specialist, impresser of girls with his psychic detective side business, pep club member leader among men Gus.
And of course, there's Lassiter who has a whacked out date that takes him to her high school reunion and appoints him her purse holder. Best date ever! Nothing like booking your date. So sad that that's as happy as I've ever seen him. But I do love me some eager, bouncy Lassiter. It's funny how he just sneaked up on me and now I find myself thinking he's attractive. How did that happen?? =D
And Juliette... got to wear a Not!Prom dress. I wish there had been more than that blink and you miss it Juliette/Lassiter interaction. COME ON! Although, I do appreciate he did cover for her presence at the precinct.
The writers do seem to be back on the Juliette/Shawn thing though which I find cute because they do look adorable together, esp. when Shawn is actually cleaned up and wearing a tie (!). And it kinda is made even more adorable to me since they are a RL couple. On the otherhand, I thought he totally clicked more with Abigail (and ya know, I totally see Juliette/Lassiter).
Speaking of Abigail and Shawn, way to go Shawn! You finally went for that chance 13 years later and then suddenly you get a glimpse of Juliette and suddenly all that it means is closure. Okay, rationally that's all it would end up being since I don't recall where she lives now and 13 years too late is 13 years too late, but well since when has Shawn been about rationality? He was just being a coward when it came to the next step. Now he can work on Juliette and maybe in another 13 years he'll take another step forward.
A few things. What's with Shawn's amnesia? Is it so the viewers won't be lost on what highschool was like for them? If so lame. Or it is to show that Shawn was really messed up at the time because of his family situation? And how the hell did those two baddies get to the body before Shawn could have?
Also, I have to say I don't care for the mom's return. I don't mind the angst. I loves me some angst esp. on an avoidant guy like Shawn. But I just feel like it was pasted on (yay).
Oh and the ending? ::fist pump::
Speaking of USA shows, I've come to accept that Burn Notice doesn't do it for me. I really was hoping I would like the series since it was Jeffrey Donovan in another one, but I find it pretty meh and that's with it being a show about an ex-spy! But the voice-overs get on my nerves and the only thing that is remotely interesting to me is his relationship with Fiona. Oh well.
On the otherhand, I am surprised at how much I've been enjoying
In Plain Sight.
I've already grown to care for almost each and every character. I eagerly await each Marshall appearance. I love loyal, responsible, fucked up Mary who has daddy issues, and, well, *people* issues. I love her irresponsible, girly sister, Brandi, who manages to evoke sympathy despite the fact that she was making moves on Mary's boyfriend. I love Chico Raphael who proposes to Mary when he really should have known better and for being confused as all hell how to deal with the awkward Brandi situation. I'm even growing to care for Mary's crazy mom who walked away from her dreams and still had hope that her n'er do well husband would return someday.
