Quick Catch Up

Smallville.

Although I enjoyed the bad campy fun of "Spell," I did not enjoy "Spirit." It was just embarassing to watch. Or it could be that we are rounding the end of the season and this is the episode we get. It's time to buckle down, not get episodes like "Spirit."

The Clark/Lana scene could have been handled better and felt more natural because they have been imagining prom for years, but it just didn't quite work out. Especially with the Clark/Chloe fake-out.

And if Jason doesn't end up being 50% unaware of being in cohoots with his mom I will throw things at the tv. No more evil boyfriends, please.

In addition, I think if I see any more "Poor Chloe" esp. in regards to Clark on screen I will throw things at the tv. Not. gonna. happen.

The only redeeming part of this episode had to be the Chloe/Lana scenes. Just the idea of Chloe ending up the prom queen of the two just tickles me silly. See, Chloe's the every fangirl everyman! I guess my problem has always been that Chloe's attitude towards the evil, superficial, superfluous society feels fake, fake, fake. Not that I secretly think she wanted to be prom queen, but she's always needed something to crusade against, something to direct her energy outwards instead of at herself, and she picked that. It's not really about her ideals, it's about what she's hiding from, it's about rationally trying not to buy into what she does buy into at heart: that she's not worth it. YMMV.

CSI.

Brass, I love you, but I miss my geeks. Without 'em and the lab, it just ain't CSI.

But I loved what we learned about you and you leaving the gift you bought her with the card in the end killed me. You so need to have more scenes with Sara now.

Joan of Arcadia.

This isn't the show I signed up for. After only two seasons, it seems early to be changing the format of the show. I should still expect ripples because I know now it'll just about balancing out Ryan, but there was just too much of a Scooby vibe at the end for me to comfortable with. We'll see how that goes if it goes.

It was nice to see Judith and Rocky.

Too many special effects.

Not thrilled at Helen possessing the gift of "discernment of spirits" or Joan talking to God when she was little. The former because it's a little too close to the supernatural and possessing powers and the latter because what I liked was Joan was this normal person who wasn't especially special.

I do like thinking about how Joan's attitude *could* change in time to mirror that of Ryan's or her learning from what Ryan's picked up through the years.

And now I know why Adam and Joan broke up. To make him fair game for Ryan. Blah.

Grey's Anatomy.

Meredith/Shepard? Meh. Big meh.

But Cristina/Burke? Yes, please!

Izzie and Alex?

Meredith/George/Cristina drunk sandwich. Lucky dog ;)

Everwood.

Ephram: The world has betrayed me. BETRAYED ME!
Me: *eyeroll*

Gilmore Girls.

Rory, you stupid, stupid girl. It's ridiculous just how badly she wants this thing with Logan to work. I really don't understand why she wants this so bad. But it won't work.

I don't think Logan is a bad guy. I give him props for trying to be a boyfriend, for leaving that dinner, and for going back to Rory's dorm.

But the both of them, the reasons why they are doing the things that they are doing are all wrong. They want things to work without it really being about each other or them as a couple, I think.

Veronica Mars.

I was spoiled for Logan being the supplier so I've had time to let it sink in. It does fit into Logan's character. And it doesn't have to mean the ruin of Veronica/Logan, although it will require time and angst purging for them to get through this. I'm for it. Bring on the pain.

But I have to say I think 'fucked-up-ness' is seriously overrated in fandom. A little fucked-up-ness is good, but I'm not interested in train wreck relationships which is how everyone seems to be touting Veronica/Logan. Meh.

Also, loved Aaron's reaction to Veronica/Logan and his talk to her in the car.

Anyway, I'm *loving* VMars and it seems like most of my flist is right there with me. I haven't seen this much across the board squeeing in awhile. I missed it! And of course because this is fandom I just have to wait a little bit before it folds in on itself with the bitterness ;) Oh fandom, you cruel mistress.

csi, joan of arcadia, everwood, sv, grey's anatomy, gilmore girls
