HS Soap Bios!
Well, now that I have noticed that we have a few readers of our little soap and we have most of the bios completed, I thought I may as well post them. This is a cast list that will be updated as soon as all the bios are available. (Bio information is current up to before Haru's accident.)

Name: Haru Nicolas Furtado (Played by Kirschreich)

Personality: Haru appears friendly, calm and collected, but it's only a mask. Underneath, Haru is calculating and possessive, especially of that which he considers his. He is vengeful when provoked but also protective and caring to those close to him, few as they may be.

Romantic Interests: Azula
Family History: Michele Furtado met his wife, Sakiko, in his late twenties when he traveled the globe (much to his own father's dismay). After accidentally meeting in Moscow, Paris and Rio de Janeiro, Michele and Sakiko decided to travel together for a while. Already smitten with each other, they soon fell in love and decided to marry. A game of Tic-Tac-Toe (won 3 out of 5) settled the half-hearted dispute of where to live and Michele returned to his family with a wife and the wish to settle down and take over the family's music store, which he did.
Personal History: Haru is the Furtado's pride. Having grown up in a music store to highly musical parents it is only natural that Haru has learned to play several instruments in his lifetime. His talent for music was obvious when little Haru taught himself how to play the guitar. Since then, Haru has mastered the saxophone, the piano, the cello and the drums. Much to his parents' delight, Haru is also a very talented singer and so a music career was inevitable. Pushed early to strive for nothing less than perfection by his loving parents, Haru shows a professionalism and enthusiasm that is rarely seen in those as young as him.
Eventually, this combination of drive and talent lead him to form and become the lead singer of an uprising young band together with Zuko, Sokka and Aang.

FYI: Many people know about Haru's gift for music, but his talents as an artist are mostly unknown. Haru likes to keep it that way, mostly because it means that no one will ask to see his sketches, which are mostly made up of drawings of Azula Azulon, his current girlfriend and depict his growing obsession with her. Fact is, that for reasons even he himself doesn't really understand, Haru feels the need to be with Azula and keep her close. The prospect of her leaving him devastates him and he turns judgmental and needy whenever something happens that threatens to end their relationship.

Personality: Emo; not really stereotypical, but more of a poser than anything (at least according to Azula). He mainly acts the way he does because it makes his dad angry. He’s generally a confused guy, especially with his relationships, but he can be thoughtful when he wants to. He’s protective of Azula, and doesn’t want to see her get hurt, which is why he doesn’t like her with Haru, he sees the way Haru obsesses over her and he’s afraid of what could happen. Surprisingly, he is very attentive to his surroundings and notices things that many don’t.
Friendships: From the band he has Aang and Sokka, but they are not really that close, and don’t spend that much time together outside of rehearsals. Zuko has been friends with Katara for a while, but since they go to different schools, they don’t get to see each other all that often. He spends most of his time at school, home, and rehearsals.
Enemies: Enemies is a strong word, but he really dislikes Haru and doesn’t get along with his father at all.
Romantic: Three girls, Toph, Katara, and Azula. He is not normally attracted to Azula, BUT she knows how to push all his buttons, and she gets a kick out of it. It really scares him that she has so much control over him. Zuko is currently dating Toph. He likes her, and likes spending time with her. Both their families are rich and they have parents who don’t understand them so they can easily relate to each other. But recently, Zuko has been thinking about Katara. They have been friends for a while, despite their different backgrounds, and Zuko is starting to fall for her. He’s scared though, he doesn’t want to mess up their friendship, and he wants to be sure that his feelings are real before he does anything.
Family History: His parents are very rich, and often leave randomly for business or mini-vacations. His father hates his band, hair, and clothes, really anything. He lets him go along with it because Azula likes the band (aka Haru) and wants it to stay together, and their mother helps to pay for the band’s expenses.

Major: Business, his father wants him to take over the family business, even though Zuko hates that idea.

Personality: She has a volatile temper and a vicious, cutting tongue. She can be needlessly cruel and enjoys taunting her brother and capitalizing on his weakness for her. Her only weakness is Haru. She is totally enslaved to him and lives to make him happy. She can be quite moody and has a need to be the center of attention. This is really a symptom of her overwhelming hunger to be loved just for herself and not for what she can do. It is due to this hidden trait that she cannot bring herself to give up the, bordering on obsessive, affection her relationship with Haru provides. She is a perfectionist who will not tolerate any flaw or failing in herself or others. She is driven to accomplish her goals and will walk over anyone in her way. She revels in being daddy’s favorite. She is a bit vain and not above using her beauty to get her way. Particularly with Zuko. Surprisingly though, she does actually care for her brother and they share a close bond… the familial boundary of which gets stepped over from time to time. She also would be happy if he ended up with the “trailer trash” Katara Hakoda but would never let Zuko know that.
Friendships: She has one “close” friend, Mai.
Enemies: Not enough room.
Romantic: She is utterly in love with her boyfriend Haru, but at the same time she does feel some UST surrounding her relationship with Zuko. He is the first boy she ever tried her feminine wiles on, and flushed with her many successes with him, is having a difficult time leaving that behind. This behavior is causing her trouble with Haru. Before Haru she never let herself be tied down to one man for very long, as they could not give her what she needed or were only after her for one of two things: Sex or money.
Family History: The Azulons are an old money family with connections to royalty. They own fully half of the town and are a founding family of the country club along with the Beifongs. The have contributed massive amounts of money to the local community including the university where Zuko and Azula attend. Several halls bear the Azulon name. Ozai is the CEO of a large fortune 500 company and also owns a great deal of local property personally. He is known to be very demanding and cold. He does however dote on Azula, as she is everything he ever wanted in a child minus her sex. He also expects Zuko to follow in his footsteps and take over the business eventually. His wife is the heiress to a large shipping empire and is wealthy in her own right. Ursa is the epitome of a gracious lady of society. She dotes on her son and has tried to shape her daughter into a true lady like herself. Ursa is active in many community boards and chairs several of them. She is known for her kind and gentle, yet firm ways. She is a close friend of Ziva Beifong. Even though the parents have put forth effort to be a part of their children’s lives they fall far short of any real and loving relationship with them. This is true more of Ozai than Ursa. Ursa has been known to take brief “sojourns” at the Betty Ford clinic from time to time.
Personal History: Azula was born second but has always been first in achievements, both academically and intellectually. Her parents, practically from birth, have pushed her to be perfect in all things. This constant pressure to succeed has had some ill effects on her personality.
Educational level: Extremely bright, she skipped two grades in high school and graduated Valedictorian, finishing with a 4.0 average. She scored 2320 on her SAT’s. (She was disappointed at not scoring perfectly.) She is now a senior in college.
Major: Corporate Law
Extracurricular: She is in several ladies clubs at the country club her family belongs to. It makes her mother happy. She also takes lessons in her family’s school of karate to keep fit. She is better at it than Zuko… of course.

FYI: Her favorite color is red. She and Mai like to pass time shoplifting makeup at the mall. She has a passable singing voice but no interest in that. She can play the violin. (Mother insisted on lessons.) Due to some rather harsh punishments as a child, she is deathly afraid of the dark. Her favorite ice cream is cookie dough. She likes cats, but doesn’t own a pet. (Unless you count Zuko.)

Family History: The Beifong banking family was founded by Salomon Mayer von Geffen in 1820 in Vienna in what was then the Austrian Empire. Salomon was sent there from his home in Frankfurt, Germany by his father, Mayer Amschel Geffen (1744-1812). Wanting his sons to expand the family business across Europe, Mayer Amschel Geffen’s sons were sent to different European cities to establish a financial institution to invest in business and provide banking service.
The Geffen’s banking businesses pioneered international high finance during the industrialization of Europe. They were instrumental in supporting railway systems across the world and in complex government financing for projects. After amassing huge fortunes, the name became synonymous with banking and great wealth, and the family was renowned for its art collecting, as well as for its philanthropy, such as museums and colleges.
Through immense financial growth through the ages but poor health, the line dwindled in members but grew in wealth. In 1910, two generations later, the last surviving grandchild of the five brothers, Lionel Geffen came to America and changed the name to Beifong.
The Beifong family of today is now one of the country’s wealthiest industrialists. Lex Beifong today owns hundreds of companies under SunStone Industries umbrella in America and overseas. With ties to Chinese companies such as Ba Xing Xe and Indian companies such as Omashu Inc, Lex is consistently ranked in the top of the Forbes 400. With marriage to oil heiress and athlete Ziva Cassel, the family was widely considered a power couple.
Sadly, tragedy struck. Ziva, a globe-trotting activist for women’s rights took ill with rubella during her pregnancy. The disease left the once radiantly healthy athlete desperately ill and fighting for her life. Labor was induced in order to save the baby, a girl who was later named Toph. Ziva made a complete recovery, but young Toph was stricken blind. Lex and Ziva still maintain their business work, but have become increasingly reclusive.
Personal History: Toph was born blind, shattering the power couple’s perfect life. As Ziva was rendered sterile by rubella, the couple vowed to protect the only child they would ever have. From a young age, Toph has had the best schooling and protection money can buy. A prodigy in terms of her incredible intellect and physical abilities, the Beifongs nurtured the first talent, hiring the finest teachers, but sought to protect their daughter from the more physical aspects of the world. Sent to various institutions for study as well as privately tutored, Toph is an intellectual match for most, speaking five languages, (Hebrew, French, Mandarin, German and Spanish) learning with the world’s finest minds. Toph was kept relatively isolated, with only her nurse Song for company. She begged her parents to bring her home so she could attend a few classes mainstreamed.
Coming home, she’s made a few friends, but is still trying to prove herself.

Personality: Happy, optimistic, friendly, and helpful. He adapts extremely well to new surroundings and can learn new things at an astronomical speed. He is a calming influence in the band and breaks up many fights and controversies with his sweet personality. He is a bit of a gossip though. He also loves his fans. He has a way of charming everyone he meets. He can be a bit jealous. It takes a great deal to anger him, but when roused, look out. Due to his upbringing, he is a tad innocent when it comes to some aspects of life.
Friendships: Aang is friends with everyone, but he is especially close to Toph, who shares some classes with him.

Romantic: He has never had a girlfriend. However, he really likes Katara Hakoda but she seems out of his reach, at the same time he also crushes on Toph… who seems so amazing to him and cute too…
Family History: He is an orphan and has lived with Gyatso, a disenfranchised monk and close friend of his parents, since he was an infant.
Personal History: Gyatso became aware of his awe-inspiring intelligence when Aang, at the age of 1½, was found reading the ancient texts in the monastery catacombs. His guardian sheltered him from the outside world as long as he could but eventually felt Aang needed to be formally educated. Even though he had been raised in Tibet until the age of 12, it took him little time to adjust to his new modern surroundings. He entered high school after passing the entrance exams with a perfect score (He even corrected a faulty question before answering it.) Due to his engaging personality he had no problem fitting in and quickly made many friends.
Educational level: He is a genius and moved through high school like nothing. He graduated at age 14 with a 4.0 GPA. He is one of the only people in the nation to ever score a perfect 2400 on his SATs. He takes some accelerated advanced classes with Toph and also is a junior at college. Many colleges and universities from around the world vied to get him and he is on a full ride scholarship.
Major: Duel majors of Aerospace engineering and Bio-chem. in prep for Veterinary school.

Siblings: One brother -Iroh, who he considers a worthless wretch. He always felt father liked him best, but when Sozin died of a heart attack, most of the money was left to Ozai.
Personality: Ozai is a suave sociopath. He has a viciously cold sarcasm, which he dispenses with great joy, using a cruel drawl to dispense insults. He believes it is his divine right to control others and with a brilliant mind, vast financial resources and a handsome face, he seems destined to achieve it. Ozai often maintains a kind mask, being on numerous charity boards but it’s merely for good PR. Ozai is a perfectionist who will not tolerate any flaw or failing in his family, and himself. He only sees servants and enemies, and will not hesitate to ruthlessly punish those who displease him. He had a host of punishments for the children when they were smaller. Any grade below a hundred meant an appointment with Ozai’s leather belt; one stroke for every point lost as well as hours in the room spent studying. Disobedience meant an appointment with the belt and the child was locked in the attic for the night. Backtalk meant rinsing the child’s mouth with soap. Ozai believed in spare the rod, spoil the child. He was eager to reward his children for achievement, but his standards were fairly high.
Friendships: Ozai has no true friends. He uses people. Of course, he comes across as friendly, caring, and charming to those around him, but those who know him best, know his dark side. He was once “friends” with Ursa De Este and Ziva Cassel, but more for their resources. He did enjoy their conversation though. On the matter of his children, he does dote on Azula, as she is everything he ever wanted in a child minus her sex, but sees her as headstrong and disloyal. He also expects Zuko to follow in his footsteps and take over the business eventually, but sees him as moronic and worthless. He is frankly disappointed.

Ursa is the epitome of a gracious lady of society. He does find her doting on her children a tad annoying. Ursa was allowed to be active in many community boards and chairs several of them. He had some fondness for her, but had numerous affairs. Now, as Ursa has become less useful, Ozai has found his eye roving to Ziva, who has a lot to offer.

Ozai grew up as the second son and was never expected to head the family. Losing his mother in a car accident at age seven shattered the once sensitive boy into a cold and cruel monster. A brilliant student through sheer diligence, Ozai graduated Harvard, Oxford and Princeton for his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate. A top athlete in swimming, martial arts and fencing, Ozai was a popular student but never achieved the fame of his party boy brother. He was the CFO of Azulon Industries, a large fortune 500 company until the mysterious death of his father. After succeeding Sozin to CEO, Ozai also purchased a great deal of local property and… other methods of staying on top.
Educational level: PhD in International Law
Extracurricular: Ozai was on the debate team, the swim team, the law journal, the literary journal and the musical theatre society. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Favorite subject: Humanities. He is an ardent Puccini enthusiast and will spend hours discussing the finer points of classical music. Ozai also reads the classics a great deal and loves to peruse a good book. Ozai enjoys fine wines and food, but never enough to ruin his fine figure.
Talents: Intelligence, athletics and emotional destruction.
Hobbies: Berating people, scheming, swimming, affairs, golf, and of course, Ozai’s chief love, the Opera.

Personality: Dr Stern is your typical geek. He would discuss scientific theories for hours and sees everything as a gadget. He loves to invent things and his best times are spent in front of a Bunsen Burner.
Friendships: Ozai, his college roommate
Enemies: His secretary who constantly bothers him with stupid things like taxes and food bills when he’s inventing
Romantic Interests: Science. He falls in love more each day
Family History: Theodore is the grandchild of immigrant scientists who left Germany right before World War Two. His mother was a doctor and his father was a nuclear scientist, so it was no surprise that young Theodore grew up to become a math and science prodigy. His mechanical abilities won him Westing House prizes and full scholarships. He eventually got a full scholarship to Harvard where he dormed with Ozai Azulon, who became his closest friend. Ozai was fascinated by Theodore’s inventions and never minded listening to him, even funding many of his projects. The two men studied together and spent hours talking.
Personal History: Theodore’s mechanical abilities took him to various advanced projects. Besides his best friend, Ozai, Theodore’s life consisted of the periodic elements and the gadgets. Theodore studied biology, chemistry, physics and electronical engineering, voraciously learning the different branches of science. By sophomore year, he became renowned for his inventions, with Ozai paying for patenting. Theodore’s life changed when he met Eliza Slater, an art student at a party Ozai dragged him to. After Eliza asked him to tutor her in chemistry, Theodore was smitten. The two had a world-wind courtship, which required marriage after Eliza got pregnant. The two lived together happily after the birth of their son, Theodore Nicola Tesla Copernicus Stern. Theodore had graduated college in two years and was working in a medical lab while taking his masters.
The wedded bliss ended after a tragic car accident. A drunk driver piled into the couple, killing Eliza instantly and injuring Teo’s spine. A shattered Theodore gave up his medical career and moved to Sweden, where Theodore took a government job that allowed him lab access. His son attended an English Immersion school. After many years of devoting his attention to it, he has finally managed to give his son the ability to walk again. Now he is achieving considerable fame, but needs funding.

Personality: Teo as his friends know him, is an upbeat guy. Happy and optimistic, he tends to see the glass as half full rather than half empty.
Friendships: None yet
Enemies: None yet, although there is dislike towards him from Haru.
Romantic Interests: He is developing feelings for Azula, but they are unrequited.
Family History: Teo's father is a world-renowned scientist and inventor. After his mother died in a car crash he and his father lived abroad for many years before settling in Sweden.
Personal History: At age two he was in a car crash that crushed his spine and left him paralyzed below the waist. His father devoted his life afterwards to giving his son the ability to walk again. Teo spent his early years in a wheelchair, until his father had developed some early prototype chips to implant in his spine, allowing him to walk again. The first few models were decent, but a completely stable model was finally produced and implanted when Teo was 14. Throughout all of this, Teo had to go through intensive physical therapy, but now the only evidence of this is his limp, and the surgery he has to go in for every three months to check up on him and manage the chip.

Talents: He has some artistic talent; he is studying engineering after all. He doodles frequently, but nothing really spectacular.

Minor character mini-bios:
Iroh: The Uncle of Zuko and Azula, and brother of Ozai. He's a crazy guy, famous for his "special brownies" and his fondness of younger women. He knows how to bring the party to life. He is a big tea connoisseur and has an extensive collection of teas from around the world. He lives off of a trust fund, but still owns a health food store with an extended selection of tea and an attached cafe. He's also a music buff, and is really proud of Zuko and his band. He's actually not a bad singer, but don't ask him to start, or you might be there a while. Ozai doesn't speak of him much, but he loves to drop by to say hello, especially if there are guests over. Since he is a widower, and lost his only son Lu Ten in the Gulf War, he can often be found visiting his remaining family, Azula and Zuko.
Jin: A sweet, somewhat innocent, happy girl who wishes to pursue a career in modeling. Unfortunately, her idea of modeling is aspiring to pose for Playboy. She scored the cover of Juggs magazine and only hopes for more. She works at Iroh’s teashop. She is a HUGE fan of the band and ALL the guys. She is sometimes seen in the company of Mr. Zhao.
Jun: A bounty hunter who has herself run afoul of the law a few times. She enjoys the company of Iroh. She has been accused of pimping from his shop a time or two but no charges were filed. She thinks the band boys are cute but prefers the skill and experience of an older man.
Mr. Zhao: A wannabe fashion designer with an eye for the ladies. Especially younger ones. He often lures girls into dating him with the promise of a modeling contract with his company. He frequents the local bookstore (The adult section particularly.) and is shockingly, a fan of the band. He has some tenuous connection to the Azulons. He often has Jin on his arm and is known to provide liquor for parties as long as he is invited.
Meng: A maid in the Azulon household, she has a crush on Aang and is the founder of his fan club. She attends every concert she can. She is an excellent worker. She dislikes Katara Hakoda and sees her as a rival for Aang’s affection.
Aunt Wu: The Azulon housekeeper. She is the great aunt of Meng and is a fixture in the home. She keeps everything running smoothly and has an uncanny ability to read people. She does not like Haru, Azula’s boyfriend. According to her, he has “bad vibes”. She may or may not be involved with Uncle Iroh, but they have been known to disappear together when he comes to visit.
Hahn: A typical young man of privilege. He feels a vast sense of entitlement and loves to throw his good fortunes in the face of others. He can be quite priggish and self-important. His parents have encouraged him to court the affections of the Beifong heiress. Their families are members at the same country club as the Azulons. He has made friends with the young blind girl and is attempting to ingratiate himself further by feigning interest in Katara Hakoda at Toph’s behest.

Family History: Michele Furtado met his wife, Sakiko, in his late twenties when he traveled the globe (much to his own father's dismay). After accidentally meeting in Moscow, Paris and Rio de Janeiro, Michele and Sakiko decided to travel together for a while. Already smitten with each other, they soon fell in love and decided to marry. A game of Tic-Tac-Toe (won 3 out of 5) settled the half-hearted dispute of where to live and Michele returned to his family with a wife and the wish to settle down and take over the family's music store, which he did.
Personal History: Haru is the Furtado's pride. Having grown up in a music store to highly musical parents it is only natural that Haru has learned to play several instruments in his lifetime. His talent for music was obvious when little Haru taught himself how to play the guitar. Since then, Haru has mastered the saxophone, the piano, the cello and the drums. Much to his parents' delight, Haru is also a very talented singer and so a music career was inevitable. Pushed early to strive for nothing less than perfection by his loving parents, Haru shows a professionalism and enthusiasm that is rarely seen in those as young as him.
Eventually, this combination of drive and talent lead him to form and become the lead singer of an uprising young band together with Zuko, Sokka and Aang.

FYI: Many people know about Haru's gift for music, but his talents as an artist are mostly unknown. Haru likes to keep it that way, mostly because it means that no one will ask to see his sketches, which are mostly made up of drawings of Azula Azulon, his current girlfriend and depict his growing obsession with her. Fact is, that for reasons even he himself doesn't really understand, Haru feels the need to be with Azula and keep her close. The prospect of her leaving him devastates him and he turns judgmental and needy whenever something happens that threatens to end their relationship.

He’s protective of Azula, and doesn’t want to see her get hurt, which is why he doesn’t like her with Haru, he sees the way Haru obsesses over her and he’s afraid of what could happen. Surprisingly, he is very attentive to his surroundings and notices things that many don’t.
Friendships: From the band he has Aang and Sokka, but they are not really that close, and don’t spend that much time together outside of rehearsals. Zuko has been friends with Katara for a while, but since they go to different schools, they don’t get to see each other all that often. He spends most of his time at school, home, and rehearsals.
Enemies: Enemies is a strong word, but he really dislikes Haru and doesn’t get along with his father at all.
Romantic: Three girls, Toph, Katara, and Azula. He is not normally attracted to Azula, BUT she knows how to push all his buttons, and she gets a kick out of it. It really scares him that she has so much control over him. Zuko is currently dating Toph. He likes her, and likes spending time with her. Both their families are rich and they have parents who don’t understand them so they can easily relate to each other. But recently, Zuko has been thinking about Katara. They have been friends for a while, despite their different backgrounds, and Zuko is starting to fall for her. He’s scared though, he doesn’t want to mess up their friendship, and he wants to be sure that his feelings are real before he does anything.
Family History: His parents are very rich, and often leave randomly for business or mini-vacations. His father hates his band, hair, and clothes, really anything. He lets him go along with it because Azula likes the band (aka Haru) and wants it to stay together, and their mother helps to pay for the band’s expenses.

This is really a symptom of her overwhelming hunger to be loved just for herself and not for what she can do. It is due to this hidden trait that she cannot bring herself to give up the, bordering on obsessive, affection her relationship with Haru provides. She is a perfectionist who will not tolerate any flaw or failing in herself or others. She is driven to accomplish her goals and will walk over anyone in her way. She revels in being daddy’s favorite. She is a bit vain and not above using her beauty to get her way. Particularly with Zuko. Surprisingly though, she does actually care for her brother and they share a close bond… the familial boundary of which gets stepped over from time to time. She also would be happy if he ended up with the “trailer trash” Katara Hakoda but would never let Zuko know that.

Romantic: She is utterly in love with her boyfriend Haru, but at the same time she does feel some UST surrounding her relationship with Zuko. He is the first boy she ever tried her feminine wiles on, and flushed with her many successes with him, is having a difficult time leaving that behind. This behavior is causing her trouble with Haru. Before Haru she never let herself be tied down to one man for very long, as they could not give her what she needed or were only after her for one of two things: Sex or money.
Family History: The Azulons are an old money family with connections to royalty. They own fully half of the town and are a founding family of the country club along with the Beifongs. The have contributed massive amounts of money to the local community including the university where Zuko and Azula attend. Several halls bear the Azulon name. Ozai is the CEO of a large fortune 500 company and also owns a great deal of local property personally. He is known to be very demanding and cold. He does however dote on Azula, as she is everything he ever wanted in a child minus her sex. He also expects Zuko to follow in his footsteps and take over the business eventually. His wife is the heiress to a large shipping empire and is wealthy in her own right. Ursa is the epitome of a gracious lady of society. She dotes on her son and has tried to shape her daughter into a true lady like herself. Ursa is active in many community boards and chairs several of them. She is known for her kind and gentle, yet firm ways. She is a close friend of Ziva Beifong. Even though the parents have put forth effort to be a part of their children’s lives they fall far short of any real and loving relationship with them. This is true more of Ozai than Ursa. Ursa has been known to take brief “sojourns” at the Betty Ford clinic from time to time.
Personal History: Azula was born second but has always been first in achievements, both academically and intellectually. Her parents, practically from birth, have pushed her to be perfect in all things. This constant pressure to succeed has had some ill effects on her personality.

Family History: The Beifong banking family was founded by Salomon Mayer von Geffen in 1820 in Vienna in what was then the Austrian Empire. Salomon was sent there from his home in Frankfurt, Germany by his father, Mayer Amschel Geffen (1744-1812). Wanting his sons to expand the family business across Europe, Mayer Amschel Geffen’s sons were sent to different European cities to establish a financial institution to invest in business and provide banking service.
The Geffen’s banking businesses pioneered international high finance during the industrialization of Europe. They were instrumental in supporting railway systems across the world and in complex government financing for projects. After amassing huge fortunes, the name became synonymous with banking and great wealth, and the family was renowned for its art collecting, as well as for its philanthropy, such as museums and colleges.
Through immense financial growth through the ages but poor health, the line dwindled in members but grew in wealth. In 1910, two generations later, the last surviving grandchild of the five brothers, Lionel Geffen came to America and changed the name to Beifong.
The Beifong family of today is now one of the country’s wealthiest industrialists. Lex Beifong today owns hundreds of companies under SunStone Industries umbrella in America and overseas. With ties to Chinese companies such as Ba Xing Xe and Indian companies such as Omashu Inc, Lex is consistently ranked in the top of the Forbes 400. With marriage to oil heiress and athlete Ziva Cassel, the family was widely considered a power couple.
Sadly, tragedy struck. Ziva, a globe-trotting activist for women’s rights took ill with rubella during her pregnancy. The disease left the once radiantly healthy athlete desperately ill and fighting for her life. Labor was induced in order to save the baby, a girl who was later named Toph. Ziva made a complete recovery, but young Toph was stricken blind. Lex and Ziva still maintain their business work, but have become increasingly reclusive.
Personal History: Toph was born blind, shattering the power couple’s perfect life. As Ziva was rendered sterile by rubella, the couple vowed to protect the only child they would ever have. From a young age, Toph has had the best schooling and protection money can buy. A prodigy in terms of her incredible intellect and physical abilities, the Beifongs nurtured the first talent, hiring the finest teachers, but sought to protect their daughter from the more physical aspects of the world. Sent to various institutions for study as well as privately tutored, Toph is an intellectual match for most, speaking five languages, (Hebrew, French, Mandarin, German and Spanish) learning with the world’s finest minds. Personal History: Gyatso became aware of his awe-inspiring intelligence when Aang, at the age of 1½, was found reading the ancient texts in the monastery catacombs. His guardian sheltered him from the outside world as long as he could but eventually felt Aang needed to be formally educated. Even though he had been raised in Tibet until the age of 12, it took him little time to adjust to his new modern surroundings. He entered high school after passing the entrance exams with a perfect score (He even corrected a faulty question before answering it.) Due to his engaging personality he had no problem fitting in and quickly made many friends.
Educational level: He is a genius and moved through high school like nothing. He graduated at age 14 with a 4.0 GPA. He is one of the only people in the nation to ever score a perfect 2400 on his SATs. He takes some accelerated advanced classes with Toph and also is a junior at college. Personality: Ozai is a suave sociopath. He has a viciously cold sarcasm, which he dispenses with great joy, using a cruel drawl to dispense insults. He believes it is his divine right to control others and with a brilliant mind, vast financial resources and a handsome face, he seems destined to achieve it. Ozai often maintains a kind mask, being on numerous charity boards but it’s merely for good PR. Ozai is a perfectionist who will not tolerate any flaw or failing in his family, and himself. He only sees servants and enemies, and will not hesitate to ruthlessly punish those who displease him. He had a host of punishments for the children when they were smaller. Any grade below a hundred meant an appointment with Ozai’s leather belt; one stroke for every point lost as well as hours in the room spent studying. Disobedience meant an appointment with the belt and the child was locked in the attic for the night. Backtalk meant rinsing the child’s mouth with soap. Ozai believed in spare the rod, spoil the child. He was eager to reward his children for achievement, but his standards were fairly high.
Friendships: Ozai has no true friends. He uses people. Of course, he comes across as friendly, caring, and charming to those around him, but those who know him best, know his dark side. He was once “friends” with Ursa De Este and Ziva Cassel, but more for their resources. He did enjoy their conversation though. On the matter of his children, he does dote on Azula, as she is everything he ever wanted in a child minus her sex, but sees her as headstrong and disloyal. A top athlete in swimming, martial arts and fencing, Ozai was a popular student but never achieved the fame of his party boy brother. He was the CFO of Azulon Industries, a large fortune 500 company until the mysterious death of his father. After succeeding Sozin to CEO, Ozai also purchased a great deal of local property and… other methods of staying on top.

Family History: Theodore is the grandchild of immigrant scientists who left Germany right before World War Two. His mother was a doctor and his father was a nuclear scientist, so it was no surprise that young Theodore grew up to become a math and science prodigy. His mechanical abilities won him Westing House prizes and full scholarships. He eventually got a full scholarship to Harvard where he dormed with Ozai Azulon, who became his closest friend. Ozai was fascinated by Theodore’s inventions and never minded listening to him, even funding many of his projects. The two men studied together and spent hours talking.
Personal History: Theodore’s mechanical abilities took him to various advanced projects. Besides his best friend, Ozai, Theodore’s life consisted of the periodic elements and the gadgets. Theodore studied biology, chemistry, physics and electronical engineering, voraciously learning the different branches of science. By sophomore year, he became renowned for his inventions, with Ozai paying for patenting. Theodore’s life changed when he met Eliza Slater, an art student at a party Ozai dragged him to. After Eliza asked him to tutor her in chemistry, Theodore was smitten. The two had a world-wind courtship, which required marriage after Eliza got pregnant. The two lived together happily after the birth of their son, Theodore Nicola Tesla Copernicus Stern. Theodore had graduated college in two years and was working in a medical lab while taking his masters.
The wedded bliss ended after a tragic car accident. A drunk driver piled into the couple, killing Eliza instantly and injuring Teo’s spine. A shattered Theodore gave up his medical career and moved to Sweden, where Theodore took a government job that allowed him lab access. His son attended an English Immersion school. After many years of devoting his attention to it, he has finally managed to give his son the ability to walk again. Now he is achieving considerable fame, but needs funding.

Family History: Teo's father is a world-renowned scientist and inventor. After his mother died in a car crash he and his father lived abroad for many years before settling in Sweden.
Personal History: At age two he was in a car crash that crushed his spine and left him paralyzed below the waist. His father devoted his life afterwards to giving his son the ability to walk again. Teo spent his early years in a wheelchair, until his father had developed some early prototype chips to implant in his spine, allowing him to walk again. The first few models were decent, but a completely stable model was finally produced and implanted when Teo was 14. Throughout all of this, Teo had to go through intensive physical therapy, but now the only evidence of this is his limp, and the surgery he has to go in for every three months to check up on him and manage the chip.

Minor character mini-bios:
Iroh: The Uncle of Zuko and Azula, and brother of Ozai. He's a crazy guy, famous for his "special brownies" and his fondness of younger women. He knows how to bring the party to life. He is a big tea connoisseur and has an extensive collection of teas from around the world. He lives off of a trust fund, but still owns a health food store with an extended selection of tea and an attached cafe. He's also a music buff, and is really proud of Zuko and his band. He's actually not a bad singer, but don't ask him to start, or you might be there a while. Ozai doesn't speak of him much, but he loves to drop by to say hello, especially if there are guests over. Since he is a widower, and lost his only son Lu Ten in the Gulf War, he can often be found visiting his remaining family, Azula and Zuko.
Jin: A sweet, somewhat innocent, happy girl who wishes to pursue a career in modeling. Unfortunately, her idea of modeling is aspiring to pose for Playboy. She scored the cover of Juggs magazine and only hopes for more. She works at Iroh’s teashop. She is a HUGE fan of the band and ALL the guys. She is sometimes seen in the company of Mr. Zhao.
Jun: A bounty hunter who has herself run afoul of the law a few times. She enjoys the company of Iroh. She has been accused of pimping from his shop a time or two but no charges were filed. She thinks the band boys are cute but prefers the skill and experience of an older man.
Mr. Zhao: A wannabe fashion designer with an eye for the ladies. Especially younger ones. He often lures girls into dating him with the promise of a modeling contract with his company. He frequents the local bookstore (The adult section particularly.) and is shockingly, a fan of the band. He has some tenuous connection to the Azulons. He often has Jin on his arm and is known to provide liquor for parties as long as he is invited.
Meng: A maid in the Azulon household, she has a crush on Aang and is the founder of his fan club. She attends every concert she can. She is an excellent worker. She dislikes Katara Hakoda and sees her as a rival for Aang’s affection.
Aunt Wu: The Azulon housekeeper. She is the great aunt of Meng and is a fixture in the home. She keeps everything running smoothly and has an uncanny ability to read people. She does not like Haru, Azula’s boyfriend. According to her, he has “bad vibes”. She may or may not be involved with Uncle Iroh, but they have been known to disappear together when he comes to visit.
Hahn: A typical young man of privilege. He feels a vast sense of entitlement and loves to throw his good fortunes in the face of others. He can be quite priggish and self-important. His parents have encouraged him to court the affections of the Beifong heiress. Their families are members at the same country club as the Azulons. He has made friends with the young blind girl and is attempting to ingratiate himself further by feigning interest in Katara Hakoda at Toph’s behest.
