Before And Afters

We moved into our new house back in June and between work and life, we have been trying to renovate it room for room. So far we have only had the chance to work on the kitchen, living room and outdoors area. We have yet to do any work in the master bedroom and the bathroom because this winter or spring we plan on doing some renovating (we want to knock out the wall to the small (nursery size) room to make our bedroom larger with a walk in closet. Since the bathroom could also use more storage we will use part of that room to also add some additional storage space to our bathroom with built-in cabinetry). We have a ton of artwork and photos as well but haven't had a chance to decide where any of it is going to go yet. Sorry about the repeats for some of you.

Here's our kitchen when we moved in. We immediately knew we had to do something with those cupboards since they were so dark and the kitchen is tiny. Not to mention to handles located in the middle of the cabinets. Why anyone would do that I have no idea.

We sanded the cabinets down, primed them and then slapped on some new semi-gloss paint. Made a huge difference. Also, added some new hardware (but have no pics of it yet). Definitely opened the room up. We plan on replacing the overhead lighting soon as well. Most likely track lighting.

Now onto the living room:

The door wall you see in the background was terrible. We replaced it immediately.

Notice the terrible deer border, the heads and ugly doors.

We took the big shelf down that was above the window to open it up more. Also the fireplace was given a new look.

And onto the improvements:

I think we need to paint the border around the filter the same color as the wall because there is no reason to showcase it (ryan was just in the paint all the border the same color mindset). I can't wait for it to be cooler so we can use the fireplace.

This was before we worked on the kitchen or put the trim around the door.

No shelf and new faux wood blinds.

I sorta want a new light. I just don't think this one fits in. And we would love a new table set eventually too.

Perspective photo. We also painted the wood since then (leads to our washer/dryer).

New trim around the door.

Our repainted porch (painted it red, its was a worn down wood with no stain barely left on it), with new table set (old umbrella) and new grill. I love our willow tree in the background.
