There's a hint, but nothing to worry about

While the folks at Glastonbury were dealing with seas of sewerage, we got to see New Order in Hyde Park with only spatters of rain, though very fetching ponchos/garbage bags did have to be donned.

And they were fantastic. For a man with a paunch Bernard can still cut some fine dance moves and Hookie and his cock rock posturing make me laugh. They opened with Crystal (the specially designed opening song, no?) and then Regret and that, combined with Bernard calling Hookie 'Hookie' on stage, makes me a lady who could die quite happily now if I had to. Irene and I danced around crazy-style for the whole set and oohhed and ahhed at the older Bernard-looking guys in front of us who kept hugging each other and jumping around. It was a thing of beauty.

She's Lost Control was possibly the best concert song I've heard.

It's my brother's birthday today. Theoretically I could also be going home in three months as the Belle & Sebastian concert is 25 September and I have no other commitments after that. I don't really want to go, though. I do want to visit my brother in Darwin but Brisbane, Byron? Not really. All very melodramatic but "if it is a choice between Richmond and death, I choose death." Virginia, I see you. So basically I have to stop being lazy and start doing stuff to make sure this doesn't happen.

I arrived at my friend's place yesterday five minutes too late to see Jude Law stop outside, wait for his dog to crap and then pick it up. That ... that would have been gold.
