This is my commemorative "Welcome to March" post. I stayed up specially!
February is a LOSER.
Right, done.
I'm back to my slightly crazy, actually methodical checking of plane tickets to New York; I so want to go. I also have a peculiar and uncomfortable earache/swallowing-hurty thing afflicting the right side of my head. I want my mum to tuck me in and put cotton wool in my ears.
I still don't have a dissertation topic but my professor sent me to the British Library to be stimulated by the India Office Records. That actually doesn't read as an oxymoron to me. *history nerd* My excitement at now being a card-carrying BL reader disappeared as soon as I entered the collection and found that the cataloguing was incomprehensible. I pretended for a little while and then went and consoled myself with a plate of chips. Then I high-tailed it to a dingy, cheap cinema between the library and school to watch The Life Aquatic. Who knew that Noah Taylor was in it (the film, not the cinema)? OMG. I was quite the squeeful little thing (Noah-in-red-beanie icons gratefully accepted). Conversely, I wanted to clap my hands over Cate's pretty mouth every time she looked like opening it. That accent had no redeeming qualities. Fair-skinned people should also wear hats.
I liked the film. I liked how it rambled. The bit where they finally saw the shark was lovely. But Rushmore is still my favourite.
Speaking of favourite films, I bought the dvd of Happy Together today. There was a two-for-one offer at the Virgin Megastore and the guy at the counter was very diligent in trying to find another copy for me. Well that's always a charming trait as far as I'm concerned and he was cute to boot.
And about twenty years old.
Crap.
