another opening night
such excitement. really though, i've been psyched all week, as is always the case with a show that you've grown rather fond of. the cast mates are so much fun to be around - so nice to finally hang out with some actors on campus! we have the usual bunch of inside jokes now, the usual warm ups (if you can even call it that. matt, my husband in the show, leads us in a rather animated storytime. oh yes, thank you for getting that one started jonathan. it's great), the usual cast members busting out their guitars and serenading the not-so-musically inclined members of ONPS. i can't help but think of ITPs... i wore my sweatshirt today. the similarities are insane. we have the crowd that does ONPS every year (granted it's only in its 2 year..), and then the newbies. except this time the people are all new to me - new stories to hear, more memories to be made. more people to walk you home, to talk about halloween costumes with. i love it.
i let them, mostly matt, talk me into doing a double major with theater. don't let me talk my way out of this one... i can tell that i really want this to stay a major part of my life, both in and out of college. the playwright came up to me after the show and told me that she couldn't have imagined a better jude. such a compliment! i know, i know... she was probably just so glad to get her worked performed, but still. and then between shows some of us went to peet's and got the hook up with coffee. the conversation was so easy... yay actors. i can tell that this is what i've been missing here. i mean, everything is fine - classes, work, friends - but this is what i've really been wanting.

the cup shattered... that's an understatement. it actually exploded.

no breaking character..not even after the line "and that cheap bastard stole my ink cartridge." nice touch, matt.
and i'm ready for the next 3 shows. and then the hanging out afterwards. bring it on..and let the fun continue.
