these are the wonderful people i spent the past 6 months of my life with (and last year). where i was every tuesday night and for 3 weeks constantly with performances. deaf access has been one of the most wonderful parts of my life.
there's a story behind the girls signing what a wonderful world. the girl on the right is deaf and the girl on the left is hearing. they met at camp when they were five years old. emily (on left) wanted a way to communicate with sarah (on right) and she learned how to sign. to share with the camp that communication they had they signed what a wonderful world. so they started off their performances at the age of 5 with this and ended their performances together with this again.
and yes, i did cry while watching this because of how attached i've become to these people over the past two years. they've been my backbone through everything.
oh, sam segal was the one who filmed all of this on our last day of performances.
