The next location was the
burned-down dancehall in the Waverly Beach area. For those of you that don't realize, it's the whole brown area on the map between the green arrow and Lakeshore Rd. This was my favourite playground for 5 or 6 years and I spent around 8 hours there every Sunday with my brother. It is easily my most favourite place in all of Fort Erie.
On the map in the lower left, you can see a square formation. That used to be the outdoor lakeside pool. It's now empty save for some reeds and scrub. On the lower rght of the pool, you can see a grey sqaure. This was the pumphouse for the pool. Currently, it serves as a party barn. Hey, it keeps the kids from vandalising the nicer parts of town, right?
I took a picture of the lake frozen over. What you're seeing is the moon lighting up the ice.
All we could see in the dark was a black lump and a light thing. I took this picture and laughed at the face painted on the rock. I love that rock. I tok this pictue while standing on a broen flight of concrete stairs. Incedentally, it was those stairs that gave me a bruise on my leg in grade 9 that didn't go away for almost two years.
Turning around on the stairs, I took this picture of Dave and Jaclyn. I just love it.
We left after I realized that the expanding model homes sector was intruding on my childhood.
End of part 3.
