AN. So, I am oddly inspired by this fandom, and I don't really know why. I wrote three random drabbles, they're unbeta'd, so c&c is welcome, Please, tell me what you think.
Warnings: Uh, the movie? And the Joey thing.
Title: Summer
Pairing: Billy/Joey
Fandom: Toy Soldiers
Rating: G maybe?
AN. Please excuse the comma mania. I don't know what's up with that.
Heat on the bare skin between his shoulder blades, suffused and still, sand in his hair, on his legs and back, the towels forgotten in the car, the roar of the ocean low and loud, the soft susurration of the wind on sand and rock and beach grass. The sound of pencil on paper quiet and distinct beside him, sweat collecting along his side, where he was pressed against a leg, long and slender, covered in sand and pale against his golden tan. Billy sighed in contentment and slipped into sleep. Joey smiled softly and continued to draw.
Title: The Firefly one
Pairing: Billy/Joey (Implied)
Fandom: Toy Soldiers
Rating: Uh, G again?
AN. This isn't really a crossover per say, it's more of a fusion. There aren't any spoilers for either show.
Being on a ship was strange, very different that he thought it would be. It was louder, for one, the constant hum of the engines, the clanging of random machinery, sometimes there was even the loud 'bang!' of something hitting the hull. It rattled when it landed, and it rattled when it took off. It needed constant repair and coaxing and sometimes he thought everything would fall apart. Fixing the ship was nothing like fixing his old mule. And space! Vast and huge and cold. He'd checked the climate controls again and again, but he couldn't ever find anything wrong with them, and ended up just buying a lot of sweaters on the next planet fall. He missed the sun a lot, and rain. There was no real 'day' or 'night', it was just when you were tired and when you weren't. He missed real food too, turkey and sandwiches, chocolate and real, commercial booze, not the frightening stuff he'd found in the engine room when he'd first taken over.
Being on this ship was strange and weird and it was nothing like home, but he wouldn't have it any other way, really. Billy smiled to himself as he walked into the kitchen. Joey looked up at him and glared.
"Where the hell have you been, dick-wad? It's your turn to cook."
Yeah, he wouldn't have it any other way.
Title: After
Pairing: Billy/Joey
Fandom: Toy Soldiers
Rating: Pg-13 ish?
AN. Okay, this one is spoiler-y, and also sad.
After, when the guys were congratulating him, slapping his back, laughing in joy (never mind the wounds, he couldn't feel the pain anymore), when Cali was dead (shot through the head, body heavy and unmoving on top of his (this was a man once)), Billy grinned and laughed, his smile wide.
"We did it!" the only thing in his head, their heads (victory), the secret handshakes, the hugs, Snuffy and Hank and Ric and even Yogurt and Ted, when those were done, he turned to Joey, to grin and laugh (one day, maybe kiss), but Joey wasn't there. Joey wasn't there.
"Oh god." his mind went numb (everything went numb) 'How could I have forgotten?' Billy stared blankly at the place beside him that had always been full, and would now only ever be empty. He could only think, 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...' over and over again, helpless (alone).
