2010: The Year We Make Contact
Haven't posted in a while, probably because things have been pretty smooth sailing. With the new year comes my least favorite thing in my life currently: working and going to school at the same time. I find that, as I get older, my tolerance for putting up with multiple brands of stupidity simultaneously diminishes greatly. I don't mind either academia or gainful employment, but putting up with both at once is disheartening. I suppose I should be grateful that I have the option to do both, but it's just too tiring to be anything but vaguely miserable.
Thankfully, I shouldn't have to put up with it much longer. I have some options out right now that might make the job a thing of the past. I'm not giving up school, not after all the trouble I've gone to for it, but I just can't carry 40 hours a week of work, 10 hours a week of class, plus 15+ hours a week of reading assignments and homework anymore. If I could just cut down my work obligation to 20 hours a week - while maintaining my current level of income, mind you - and move that amount to the daylight hours, I would be in a much better position. That may become possible soon, but I don't want to say too much, lest I jinx it.
