The Weekend - such as it was
My weekend - an anecdote in too many words.
Friday was the Buffy Dinner - with many people I DID know ( such as redeem147 and styrofoam_guy) and some I didn't (like garnigal (hi there ;) ) ) as well as Ms Pixelbarrel herself, who came bearing many Puppet Spikes. Good Times, (yeah.. bnddbl07, that expression is worthy of stealing ;) ).
Saturday brought SCA's Twelfth Night in Streetsville, after the obligatory brunch at my parents' place. I was able to convince assetic to keep me company at this medieval themed event... where we met up with merry_cat and her hubby Chris. assetic was dressed in her finest pirate garb, whilst I had just thrown on a poofy shirt. (Of course, both merry_cat and hubby were also suitably attired, since merry_cat was painting many a face at the event. assetic heeded the "Call to the Dance", wowing the instructor and participants with her grace and elegance. The lesson reminded me a little of the "Dance like nobody's watching" Panel led by mints4friends and baensidhe that we all have so much fun at :).
After 12th Night, we hopped in my Time Machine and travelled into the Future - to see Children of Men at the Cinema, but not before we checked into the very nice hotel room on behalf of scifi_sara and smittyd. The movie was excellent, if a little on the dark side.
Subsequently, we travelled back to the present.. to meet up with S&D at the hotel. They were already chillaxin' . so we decided to take smittyd's car and go to N'Orleans.. or what passes as such in these parts ;) . Big Daddy's Crabshack was quite busy, so we had to wait for a few minutes before being seated. We had just placed our order for drinks & appetizers ( mmm. gator bites and cornbread) when the Voodoo Booth became free - so we decided to move. Right away, the Voodoo struck - I lost my gift certificates for the restaurant on the move from the table to the booth. Luckily.. our combined mojo held true.. so that the GC's were returned to us by the manager who had found them ;) . After a feast of steaks and Redfish a la Chef Prudhomme , and not a few cocktails, we were all sufficiently sated and feeling good that we headed back to the hotel. We watched Saturday Night Live - with the Sequel that we all were waiting for (but didn't know it ;) ) LASER CATS 2! This Time, it's PERSONAL!! . A very relaxing way to cap a busy day :)

Sunday started out late & lazy, with me joining merry_cat and hubby Chris, as well as some of their friends for some excellent Dim Sum at the Mississauga Chinese Centre. Lots of taste experiences :) . Again, Good Times.
Sunday ended the usual way.. with me going shopping for the weeks groceries, doing laundry, and going to sleep early to be ready for my 2am shift.
