I got this email from my Uncle (my dad's brother) this morning:
Thanks for your txt. Alan was able to txt us on Monday morning so we knew that he was ok. He was not feeling well so he emailed his teacher that he would not go to school that morning! Buti na lang! He was in his apartment when the shooting started.
My cousin studies in Virginia Tech, and is required to report to their guidance counselor's office (which happens to be in the same building where the shooting happened) everyday. If he weren't sick, he would've been locked up in that building along with the other students and professors. Buti na lang talaga. Praise God for that.
