Crazy Weekend

So I had a pretty crazy weekend. My friend Naoki was supposed to come in Saturday afternoon, but things didn't work quite as we'd hoped. You see, he'd been in Los Angeles visiting another friend, and he was supposed to take a flight from there to San Francisco, and from there transfer to a flight to Austin. However, his flight from LA get delayed by two hours and thus by the time he finally got to San Francisco, the flight to Austin was already gone. So his flight ended up getting changed to one arriving in Austin at 3:26 on Sunday morningh. -____-

So I had planned to have a bit of get together for Naoki on Saturday night. Well, he obviously wasn't going to be making it in time, but the people were invited and the liquor was, so of course the show went on. I hope everyone who came had a good time. I know I did. ;) There was even stripping and passing out in my roomates's bathroom(neither done by me, thankfully). I have not been that drunk since I was in Japan. While it was a lot of fun my apartment now looks like a war zone. x_x

So after every had left and I had sobered up, I went off to pick up Naoki at the aiport. His flight was an hour late. -_- It was really great to see him though! We came back to my apartment and talked about old times for a while, and finally got to bed at around 7:30.

...and then woke up 3 hours later to drive to Houston see the Rockets play. The drive went by fast though because we talked the whole way. He kept saying まったく日本語忘れてないね which was cool to hear even though it's not true. :/ So we get to the Toyota Center in downtown Houston and find our seats, which were REALLY good even though I bought the cheapo tickets. Too bad the Rockets lost. :P I'm hardly a basketball expert, but I think Yao Ming is amazing. He looks really at ease on the court and seems to really know how to play the game. However, it take more than one mamouth Chinese guy to win. :P Naoki and I watched dumfoundedly as the Rocket completely blew the very nice lead they had going into the second half. We (and almost everyone else in the arena) ended up leaving early because it was too painful to watch.

After that we ate dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill and then headed back to Austin. When we finally got back we talked for a bit more and then crashed because we were both exhausted. Today we slept a bit late and then went to the Outlet Mall in San Marcos so he could buy a present for his girlfriend. We spent a few hours there and ate lunch. I was once again SHOCKED at how cheap the Old Navy Outlet is. :O I definitely wanna go back there when I'm not dead broke. I really like Old Navy Clothes for whatever reason.

After that we drove back to Austin and I took him to the airport, and off he went back to Japan. It really awsome to get to see him again, but also really 懐かしい. I really wanna go back to Japan. >_<

Afterwards I came back to my apartment and applied for graduation 20 minutes before the deadline. ^^; Hopefully everything works out okay with that! Went to work and was once again shocked at how well I can do my job COMPLETELY on autopilot. Like, I'd be talking on the phone with an alumni and be thinking about something COMPLETELY different at the same time. Crazy.

I plan on enjoying this week because I have no tests or papers. Thank GOD. Next week starts what's going to be a REALLY busy couple of weeks though. I'm REALLY sick of school. Part of me is jealous of my friends who will be here an extra semester but part of me just REALLY doesn't care about school at all anymore. Just gotta pass all my classes...

So lately I've been translating songs lyrics again. It's incredibly hard, but there have been a lot of songs lately with lyrics I really love. Man, 素直 really is an incredibly difficult word to translate into English. Oh yeah, and I wanna go to karaoke. NOW.
