After my helpful guide to understanding the British, now I give you the chance to learn Chinese:
Oh, I gotta tell you all this story at this point, and I swear it's taken from RL: I was in a snackbar owned by two lovely Chinese people, waiting for my fries. A guy comes in, ostentatiously showing off a new tattoo consisting of Chinese characters. The snackbar-owner goes: "Hey! Mouse!", pointing at the tattoo. Guy: "huh?" Snackbar-owner: "your tattoo! Says 'mouse'! Why have tattoo that says 'mouse'?" Guy: "WHAT? No! It says 'courage'!" Snackbar-guy, drawing characters on napkin and showing them to Guy: "no no, look: this says 'courage', and this says 'mouse'!"
I almost wet myself laughing. And I decided never to get a tattoo with Chinese characters.
