I’ve just been doing some serious de-friending of friends and un-following of communities.
Why did you do that, Hib? Well, let me explain (thanks again,
wihluta, for letting me borrow some of your excellent wording for doing this!):
Un-following communities:
I’m finally “officially” leaving the House Fandom. I still absolutely love Greg House as much as ever, but I’m completely done with the show and the fandom, and I don’t think this’ll change any time soon. I’ll still read (some) fan fic, and I might still post House-stories if I ever get my butt in gear and finish some of them (and if that makes me a hypocrite, well, so be it), but apart from that, I’m out of there. So, from now on I’ll only follow a very select few House (or House-related, there seems to be a big difference) communities. I un-followed the rest.
De-friending:
I am mainly de-friending people who have been silent for a long time, and this includes people who still post, but who (almost) never comment on my (personal) entries, or people whose fandoms I no longer follow or never followed in the first place and with whom I have not developed a close personal friendship.
If I de-friended you, it does not mean I don't like you. IT’S NOTHING PERSONAL. I just have a strong need for my friends-list to only contain stuff I actually want to read, posted by people I feel a real connection to or a real friendship with.
Also…
If you have friended me and I de-friended you - and you were only here for my fan fic and/or my Entries For Somebodies - fear not, all of those will remain unlocked, so you will still be able to read them.
If you have friended me and I de-friended you - and you were here not only for my fan fic and/or my Entries For Somebodies but also for my personal entries - drop me a line and we will figure out what to do.
If you have friended me and I didn’t de-friend you - it means I love you and you’re stuck with me. Deal with it.
