2012 Crow Collection Fashion Show

Jul 19, 2012 00:02

I finally got around to posting my photos from the 2012 Crow Collection Cosplay Fashion Show that took place last month.  I attempted to put together a fairy kei outfit.  Fairy kei is a fashion style that popped up in Japan a couple years ago; it combines the 80s with a pastel palette (maybe I'll do a post on it in the future).  The idea to do fairy kei had been in my head since last year, but I wasn't sure I had enough pastel and poof to make a look work.  My kneesocks and shoes are too dark, but overall, I think I had a decent casual look.

You can see them, as well photos from past fashion shows and other art museum events, at my Flickr album.  One of my friends put together an outfit inspired by Hizaki and Jasmine You of Versailles.  The winner was decided by a combination of audience applause and judges' pick, and Princess Peach was the clear victor.

We didn't get a lot of contestants this year or audience members for that matter (part of it was because of Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy). Hopefully next year, we'll get more participants and spectators.
