There was a Tumblr meme where you had to search for a keyword in your music library and name the first song that pops up. I thought I would do it with Japanese titles, which turned out to be harder than expected. It seems that while American song titles use a lot of the same keywords, Japanese ones don't. Or maybe you just don't see these particular ones.
For some of these I had to modify the word to a single Kanji character to make the search easier.
- うれしい/Happy:
- 愛/Love: "愛しているから" ("Aishiteru kara") - Kazuya Kamenashi
- 嫌/Hate: "Love yourself ~君が嫌いな君が好き~" ("Love yourself ~Kimi ga Kirai na Kimi ga Suki~") - KAT-TUN
- 光/Light: "光の旋律" ("Hikari no Senriku") - Kalafina
- 暗/Dark: "闇より暗い慟哭のアカペラと薔薇より赤い情熱のアリア" ("Yami yori kurai doukoku no acappella to bara yori akai jounetsu no aria") - D
- 良/Good: "Kiss Me Goodbye" - Angela Aki
- 悪/Bad:
- 微笑/Smile: "Smile" - Changing My Life
- 泣き声/Cry: "Cry No More" - Mika Nakashima
- 女/Girl: "騎士乙女" ("Kishi Otome") - Ali Project
- 男/Boy: "Boyfriend?" - Kumi Koda
I couldn't find anything in my own music collection (CDs included) for "happy" and "bad." Can you think of any J-pop or J-rock songs with those words in the title? Feel free to try this with your music library.
