Weekend Events
On Saturday, did the household stuff, food shopping, laundry, etc., etc., blah, blah....
I spent a good part of the day designing a remodel to my kitchen. I was pleased with the way it came out. I want to take my existing L shaped bank of base cabinets, that have the sink, stove and dishwasher, and remove the Sink and DW. Create an Island for the Sink, DW and have a raised counter-top behind the sink to sit. The only concern that I have, is that this will be the only place to sit in the kitchen, there will no longer be room for a table and chairs. I do have a formal dining room, but just worry that this will be a negative when I go to sell the house.
I had a little fight with Rodd Saturday evening, when he wanted to spend time with his friend, sans me! I got pissed and threw a fit. I guess I was jealous, and didn't want to spend the night alone. His original plan was to go to work for a few hours to make up for missed time. He didn't want to go to work, so he came up with this idea. Well, after we talked through it, he ended up going to work as planned, and he suggested that I go out to the club. And that's what we did. He worked, and I danced. Perfect!
Sunday: We both slept until about noon, I made brunch. I picked Spinach, zucchini, cucumbers and peas from my garden. I blanched and froze the spinach and peas. I ate a cucumber and made zucchini bread. Rodd made potato salad and fried chicken for dinner. It was good! Our friend Eric came over in the evening and we watch a movie. It was "Transamerica" A story about a transsexual who, one week before his operation to become a woman, finds out he fathered a son 17 years ago, who is in jail. He flies from LA to NY to bail him out( he was caught prostituting and with drugs), and then drives cross-country with him. (S)he pretends to be a Christian charity worker that helps needy teens and disclose that he's his father. It was a good story, kind of slow at points, but overall a decent storyline.
