This is my first fanfic and I'm really excited! I don't really know how everything works yet,
so please understand the flaws. :)

Throughout her years as Girls Generation’s cheerful princess,
Sooyoung prided herself in her ability to live up to her debut nickname. As a
member of Korea’s most loved group, the tall girl had learnt that her fellow members
had much to worry and concern over than most other young adults. And so naturally,
Sooyoung had kept silent, choosing to reassure her unnies in their problems
instead of spilling her share of burdens and worries. However, almost 4 years after her 2007 debut,
her façade as a 24/7 happy and bright girl was starting to crumble.
Sooyoung sat down on the practice room floor, resting her
chin on her knees. SNSD and Super Junior were in the midst of a rigorous
practice for an SMTown collaborative dance, and after 3 hours of nonstop
dancing, all members sprawled out on the hard wood floor gasping for air.
“I can’t do this anymore! I’m 29 for god’s sake. Dancing for
this many hours kills me! Sica, turn up the AC.” Super Junior’s self acclaimed
princess shrieked.
“Shut up, it’s too hot to hear your complaints. Jessica don’t
listen to him.” Kyuhyun replied, smirking while doing so.
His back was pressed against the cool mirror of the
practice room, and to Sooyoung’s dismay, his girlfriend of 2 weeks leaning
against his broad shoulder.
To Sooyoung’s eyes, Kyuhyun and Seohyun defined the perfect
maknae couple, and she couldn’t stand it. His wit, her innocence, and both
their voices were perfect for one another, something that Sooyoung would never
be able to provide for her crush of 4 years. The tall brunette could tell that
her Seobaby was an easy girl to fall in love with, and Kyuhyun had recently
proved that to her. A simple duet for SMTown had given the two maknaes a chance
to get to know one another, and from there, Kyuhyun was a goner. Sooyoung could
see in the way his deep eyes gazed at Seohyun that he had fallen deeply. She
stared at the two lovers and felt lost. It should have been her. The girl in
Kyuhyun’s arms, the girl smiling with love, the girl whispering secrets and laughing
alongside her boyfriend. The endearment of “Seo~” coming out of the boy’s lips should
have been “Soo~”, and the one replying “Kyu~” should have been her. There were
so many actions and thoughts that Sooyoung felt were destined to be hers, but
there was nothing the heartbroken girl could do now. She had lost her chance,
and her fellow bandmate had already grasped the opportunity.
Before the tears could spill, Sooyoung casually stood up and
walked towards the door of the practice room, pretending that everything was
okay, when in truth, it felt as though her heart had been ripped into pieces.
She looked back, and stared once more at the boy she loved for so long and the
girl who held his heart. Sooyoung felt miserable. She turned her head back, and
held in all the emotions that were so close to erupting. She plastered on that happy
smile of hers, swallowed the tears, and walked out the door. The cheerful princess had survived four
years of frustration and pain, and no boy would ruin that achievement, not even Cho Kyuhyun
