There were birds in the parking lot today. Grackles. Pigeons. This is not unusual.
However, today they were also joined by parrots. Yeah, parrots. As in bright green dove-sized lorikeet-lookin' things. In central Texas. In winter.
This is very unusual.
They were right in front of Petco, so I figured, "geez, maybe they got loose somehow" and walked in. There were absolutely no employees inside, which I assumed was either a cause or symptom of their sudden parrot loss. But a closer inspection of their bird area turned up no empty bird cages. They didn't even seem to sell green birds of that size.
Yeah, this is gonna be puzzling me for a couple of weeks. BIRDS WHAT?
