Uncharted Territory (6/?)

Jul 27, 2011 01:34

Author: hi_im_kris
Pairing(s): Rachel/Quinn, Santana/Brittany, Kurt/Sam
Rating: PG-13, because Quinn and San have potty mouths
Summary: Sam, Quinn, and Brittany are triplets. They move to Lima from Tennessee before the start of their Junior year. Shortly after arriving they meet the three resident divas of McKinley. The rest, as they say, is history.
Notes: Hey, folks. I'm really sorry it's taken me so long to update here, but I've been busting my ass to finish my homework before my Senior year of high school officially begins on Monday. Lol. That being said, this chapter is a tad different because it focuses more on Santana as this is still one of the Brittany/Santana centric chapters. Someone on Fanfiction.net gave me the idea to do the chapters this way, and you know? I really like it. Also, thoughts on the second half? Please. So enjoy! :)

Brittany broke their second kiss wearing what was probably the most adorable grin Santana could ever remember seeing on anyone in her entire life. The blonde was over the moon with happiness and it was quite obvious to Santana who was watching the younger girl with an amused expression.

“What time do you have to be home, Britt?” Santana asked softly, intertwining their fingers gently.

Brittany bit her lip thoughtfully, “I don’t really know. Probably soon though, so I can do my homework before my parents get home.” She replied absently, scrunching her nose at the thought of homework.

Santana smiled and kissed Brittany gently, “All right, come on then. I’ll walk you home.”

Brittany smiled slightly, “You don’t have to, San. Your house is a totally different way.”

Santana shook her head slightly, “I know. I’m still going to walk you home. Before we go though, can I ask you something?”

Brittany nodded slowly, “Sure, S. Anything.”

“Will you go out with me? You know, be my girlfriend and everything.” The Latina asked with a vaguely nervous expression.

Brittany threw her arms around Santana’s neck with a squeal and hugged her tightly, “Yes! Yes, I’ll go out with you!”

Santana grinned and nodded, “Awesome.” She mumbled in reply, kissing Brittany chastely before intertwining their fingers again and tugging the taller girl along towards her home.

Santana kissed Brittany again when they arrived at the blonde’s house, she was pretty sure that at this point she was literally addicted to kissing Brittany because she was experiencing a trippy sort of head rush that she was kind of starting to like.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, B.” Santana murmured, grinning slightly.

Brittany smiled brightly and kissed the Latina gently, “Okay. Bye, S.”

Santana smiled and waved as she turned away and headed off down the street, “Bye, Britt.”

When Brittany finally went into her house Santana proceeded to do a goofy dance down the street, unable to contain her joy at having finally begun a relationship with Brittany. After her little happy dance, the Latina flushed and thanked God that no one from school aside from Rachel lived anywhere near Brittany otherwise the HBIC persona she had worked so hard to perfect at school would be shot to hell, and she really couldn’t have that because it was pretty much the only way she managed to keep the asshole jocks and the other Cheerios at McKinley from pestering her friends.

She returned home to an empty house and glanced at the sticky note that her mom had left for her on the fridge. Her mom was a lawyer and her dad was a doctor, which meant crazy schedules on both their parts at times, but Santana didn’t mind too much as they were wonderful parents, who supported her and loved her and always went out of their way to spend time with her. She read the note quickly, it informed her that her mom had gone to pick her brother Alejandro up from the airport, because he was on break from school and had been planning on visiting for quite some time.

Santana grinned and tossed the note in the trash, her brother was three years older than she was and she loved him to death. They were as close as siblings could be and she couldn’t wait to see him again. Granted, the airport was almost an hour away and her mom probably hadn't been gone for very long, considering she had been home before Santana had left for the park.

The Latina flopped down on the couch in their living room and turned on the TV, immediately changing it to a music channel before she set about finishing what little homework she had not finished prior to her trip to the park with Brittany. Santana prided herself on being an excellent student, because it gave her a safety net should Cheerios not work in her favor and it kept her options for college open. Although, the fact that her two best friends in the entire world were straight-A students also prompted her to work her ass off to match their grades as well.

Santana fiddled with her cell phone absently as she finished writing an essay for English that she had been working on for the better part of three days to make sure it was pretty much perfect and when she finally finished it she grinned and glanced at her phone, deciding in that moment that she wanted to share the news of her new relationship with her best friends sooner rather than later.

Rach. Guess wat happened 2 me today?

San, you know very well that I despise the guessing game. However, I will humor you. What happened to you today?

Santana chuckled lowly at Rachel’s reply, she had never quite understood her best friend’s vaguely over exaggerated proper manner of speaking but it amused her to no end and Rachel, for some reason, only spoke like that at school, where she was never nearly as relaxed as she could have been.

I asked Britt out….she said yes. :)

That’s wonderful! I’m happy for you, San! Have you told your parents yet?

Nuh uh. I told u first. Ma is gone to pick up Alex, and Dad is at work.

Well, I’m happy for you just the same! Congrats! I have to go…homework to finish and what not.

Lol. K, Rach. C u tomorrow.

Bye, San.

Santana grinned slightly and set her phone on the table, pushing herself off of the couch as she caught wind of the door opening. She hurried into the entry way and grinned brightly at the sight of the tall, dark haired boy behind her mom, her brother grinned at her as he met her gaze and opened his arms, prompting her to hug him tightly in greeting.

“Hola, hermanita! How are you, San?” Alejandro greeted brightly, grinning down at Santana who grinned back up at him.

“I’m great, hermano. I’m glad you’re back.” Santana replied honestly.

Alejandro laughed, “I’m glad to be back. What’s got you in such a good mood, hermanita?” He asked curiously.

Santana flushed slightly, “Come on, so I can tell you and Mamí at the same time.”

Alejandro grinned and nodded, following Santana into the kitchen where their mother, Maria, was getting ready to make them dinner because their dad was working a late shift at the hospital.

“Ma, San has an announcement to make.” Alejandro announced as they entered the kitchen, prompting a sharp slap on the arm from his sister.

Maria quirked an eyebrow at her children, “Really now? What’s your announcement, mija?”

Santana flushed and smiled slightly, “I uh…well, I asked a girl out today. And she said yes.”

Alejandro laughed boisterously, “Oh, way to go, hermanita!”

Maria smiled, “That’s great, mija. Can I ask who?”

Santana smiled, “Brittany Evans. She moved here a few weeks ago from Tennessee.”

Maria smiled and kissed Santana’s forehead gently, “That’s wonderful, mija. Now, both of you wash up and help me with dinner.”

They nodded in unison, “Sí, Mamí.”

Brittany emerged from the locker room after Cheerios practice on Thursday morning with a grin. Santana had to stay behind for a while because Coach Sylvester wanted to speak with her about something, so Brittany was currently on her way to Quinn’s locker, to hang out with her sister before school started. She was in the absolute best of moods, because Santana had made it very clear to their team mates that they were dating and that if any of them had a problem with it they could go talk to Coach and see what she had to say about it. No one had said anything and they had continued on with practice like they would any other day.

Brittany glanced down the hall and waved at Quinn, who smiled and waved in return. Karofsky was heading down the hall with a slushie in his hand but Brittany didn’t pay much attention to him as she had never been slushied before and Santana, Rachel, and Kurt had pretty much made it a cardinal rule that slushie facials were no longer acceptable. Then again, Karofsky had made it a point, despite whatever punishment he received to slushie her siblings because they were gay, and in hindsight she should have guessed that he would target her next.

It still came as a surprise though, when Karofsky sneered at her and tossed the slushie in her face with a well-placed insult about her sexual orientation.

Tears almost immediately brimmed in her eyes and Karofsky made it about three steps away from Brittany before all hell broke loose.

“Karofsky!” Quinn shouted, prompting the large boy to turn and freeze suddenly at the icy expression that the blonde directed at him.

He shook his head and sneered at Quinn, “What Evans, you want some too? Why don’t you go find your faggot brother and let me get you all at once?”

Quinn literally growled at the boy and tackled him with surprising ease, straddling him as he fell and striking him hard, splitting his lip with one quick punch. She continued to wail on the boy as a crowd of students formed around them, chanting and jeering as the fight continued. Suddenly Quinn was being pulled off of the boy.

“What the fuck is going on?” Santana shouted, a scowl fixed on her features.

Karofsky scrambled to his feet and attempted to wipe the blood away from his face and nose, “Evans fucking attacked me. I didn’t do shit.”

Quinn strained against what she recognized as Sam’s grip, “Don’t fucking lie, asshole! Go near my baby sister again, and I’ll whoop your ass! Don’t you dare talk about my family like that again, or I’ll beat you even worse!” She screamed, prompting a surprised expression from Santana who glanced to Quinn’s left and noticed Brittany, who was wiping her face with a towel from Rachel.

Santana leveled the football player with a fierce glare, “Get the fuck out of here, Karofsky. You’re dead, just wait.” She intoned furiously, prompting the boy to pale and push his way out of the crowd.

Santana barked an order for all of the other students to clear and strode up to her girlfriend with a concerned frown.

“Are you okay, Baby?” She asked Brittany softly.

Brittany nodded, “I’m fine, just cold. Are you okay, Quinnie?” She glanced at her sister with a frown.

Quinn smiled and clenched her fist, hissing at the pain in her bleeding knuckles, “I’ll be okay, Duckie. Don’t worry about it. He knows better than to slushie anyone, and there’s no way I’m gonna let him talk about you or Sam like that. You’re my baby sister, Britt; it’s my job to protect you anyway.”

Santana smiled slightly, “You sure you’re okay, Q?”

Quinn nodded, “I’ll be fine, San. I just need to wrap my hand or something.”

Santana nodded, “Okay, Rach, you think you can help Q out?” She asked, prompting a nod from Rachel, “Good. Come on, B, I have an extra uniform in my locker. It should fit you.”

Santana glanced around at her friends, Karofsky was going to have hell to pay that was for sure. No one messed with her family, and the little group that pretty much made up the Glee club was her family. And the first thing her dad taught her when she was little was that she should always protect her family.
