Video: 002

[The video is turned on to reveal Matthew sitting on top of a tall concrete wall. It'd clearly taken him awhile to climb up there, but boredom and a lack of fear of death does that to people. Even though he is now looking at the PDA, he carries a day dreamy expression on his face ( Read more... )

It's, ah, Canada Day already?

[Yes! Finally somebody who knew what Canada Day was!]

Yep! It's July 1st! I've been counting the days...and well watching the calender on the PDA too, but I still would have figured it out without it.

Are you from Canada too? Or are you American?

I haven't been, ah, watching the dates.

I, myself, am from America but hold no affiliation to the country. The boys have their own 'country' that I run for them.

Eh? Boys? T-Their own country?

Wait...are you a President, or Prime Minister?

[Oh how confused Matthew was.]

Yes. The band Dethklok. They have Mordland, where they live, work and run the brand of Dethklok.

I'm their lawyer, manager and Chief Financial Officer. I have to run it for them because they're not, ah, business savy.

Oh! S-Sorry, I guess I haven't listened to enough music lately. They sound really successful, but I've never heard of them before.

[As much as Matthew tried to keep connected to his nation, sometimes Parliament and politics did become it's own isolated little world for him. Of fancy speeches and Quebec-English fighting.]

Mord-land? How big is this place?

Wow, you must be really smart then! D-Do you like that job?

Well, ah, everyone seems to be from... Different worlds. The band might not even exist there.

Mordland is about a billion acres. It can change from time to time depending on what the boys feel like doing with their land.

I do have several degrees to my name and my job is something I value.

Huh...so there's different versions of the same world out there? This whole dimension thing is actually pretty cool, eh. Even if just thinking about all the different possible worlds kind of hurts my head. [MATTHEW IS HANDLING THIS ALL SO WELL.]

A-A million acres? Seriously?! Holy fu...er crap, they must be rich!

Huh, sounds like you've got a really good career than. I hope things are okay when you go back! I study history and politics, and I work as a low end worker in the Canadian Parliament building. Sometimes it can get tough, but I still enjoy it too.

Yes, ah, apparently. Judging by how many different types of people are here, it would be the most likely answer.

The boys collectively are the seventh largest economy in the world and all other countries count on them to keep going.

I was, ah, separated from them for nine months and they ran themselves into the ground without me there to guide them and manage what they did. So you're government worker then? It sounds a bit lackluster for your studying.
