I finally arrived home after following a gas truck going 5 mph from Honaker to Council. My mommy was making chicken casserole, mashed poatoes, and corn for me when I got home-yes, I most certainly appreciate home cooked food more now than ever. I decided that there looked like enough to invite The Club up to eat before the play. I called Jess and of course she was on her way because there was food. I was calling Kay and got her answering machine when the doorbell rang and there was Kay and Nino at my door to surprise me. My mother is a big fat liar because they had been planning on surprising me all day! Nino and Kay brought me a balloon that said, "Welcome Baby Girl," to welcome me home. I have the greatest friends! Tab made a cameo apperance during our dinner and all was well.
The Club and I headed to the Breaks to see Mr. Boyd in a play. Don't see the play--although Mr. Boyd is a great actor--almost too good because I had to hide my face a few times when he said things that would normally NEVER escape "the most amazing man on Earth's" mouth--the play itself wasn't very good at all.
It was awesome to be with my girls! Although I love, love, love it here at Emory it's always good to be with the friends that know you the best and love you anyway.
Saturday was a day of nothingness. I slept and ate lots. Dana and I went to visit Britt that night (who got 5th place in her first collegiate cross country meet--go best friend!). Good times catching up, playing with Bailey, and eating burnt/doughy cookies.
Sunday I finally got to go to my church. Oh how I had missed it! My church is one of the things I miss most while at college. I sat with my girls Mary and Taylor and got to catch up with everyone. Visited Mamaw's and ate lots then packed up and headed back to EHC.
Today has been the start of an insanly busy week!! I have SO much to do and I'm on the brink of being stressed, but Lauren Robins made my day! I got a very long and inspiring letter from her along with a cross for my dorm-yes, she rocks my socks! Ronald also sent me a letter from the Air Force--he sends his love to everyone and wants me to spread the word that he's doing well.
Classes, meetings, outlines, papers, and articles are now calling my name.
