First, on V6's Asia/Japan tour special movie, courtesy of inocchi_ry
here.
I'm so in love with the movie. Maybe because I'm a sucker for handheld cameras, grainy screens and documentary-style filmmaking, but I totally fell in love with the movie, even though it's just 11 minutes. The clip is less about the V6 members than about... just random things. It's very hard to define this movie - with shots of motorcycles running on the street, streetsigns hanging in some district in Japan, the stairs, V6 coming to Korea and greeting the fans, raindrops, etc. The red and purple light during Only Dreaming live gave a lovely contrast and created a dreamy image, which fits the song so well. I especially like the light angle during Nagano-kun's shot. The members' individual faces appeared very briefly and only spoke two/three sentences each, but it felt very emotional, probably because of the black and white background and the piano playing quietly.
I have to say one more time that I like V6's style so much, simple yet expressive and emotional. It just fits them well, now that after this coming November, everyone will be older than 30. Of course they can't go around standing on traffic lights like in Feel your breeze anymore, but this mature style only makes them more attractive and refined.
On the Only Dreaming/Catch release:
While I wasn't particularly impressed with either song, I like Catch more, it feels more V6-like. The bonus CD, on the other hand, was great fun to listen to. I can't say much now that the lyrics aren't out yet, but 小さな恋のおはなし (Chiisana koi no wo hanashi, which google translated to "Little love story") was my favorite. When Okada's voice starts to narrate in the beginning, I was like, kyaaaa! Yeah I'm very biased, but the song overall gave me a peaceful, warm feeling, especially Tonisen's voice, which never fails to amaze me.♥ I just wish there was less talking and more singing!
So far, it seems like avex has done a really good job, starting from READY to this!
