Ever find yourself at work with free time... lots of scattered free time. Now, I don't necessarily mean you are slacking. If your job consists of mind-numbing drone work, you end up having available time because you could do your work with your eyes closed while you listen to "O holy night" by Eric Cartman in your head, or the job is so boring that you've debated breaking something on purpose just to get something to do. Others of us have project work, so there are just gaps everywhere due to the lack of a constant "do this, do that" work routine. These gaps aren't long or consistent enough to escape your work space and go lounge for a while, but they are gaps where you end up staring blankly at the screen.
So what do you do at work to fill the voids? What can you suggest to others who are looking to fill those empty time slots (that won't get someone fired or in trouble)?
