“Let’s go exploring,” Albus Severus Potter suggested one cold and snowy Sunday near the end of January. His blond best friend nodded excitedly in agreement.
Rose Weasley frowned at her cousin. “I have much more important things to do.”
“Like what?” Albus asked. “Re-read Hogwarts, A History for the tenth time?”
Rose blushed, “Eleventh, actually.”
Albus rolled his eyes while Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy shook his head in astonishment. “Whatever,” Albus told her, “but we’re going to go have some fun.”
Rose waved as the two Gryffindors walked away. They wandered through the castle aimlessly for some time. Eventually Albus got bored. He sighed and leaned against a tapestry hanging in a fourth floor corridor. He promptly fell through the large piece of heavy fabric.
Scorpius gasped in shock and dashed across the hallway to the spot where his best friend had disappeared a moment before. He pulled the tapestry aside to reveal a secret passage. Albus sat in the tunnel, rubbing the back of his head and mumbling, “Ow...”
Scorpius held out a hand and helped the brunet stand up. “Where do you think it goes?” Albus asked. Scorpius shrugged and made a couple of hand gestures. Albus grinned, ”Alright. Let’s go.”
The two boys walked down the passage, which headed steeply downhill. A couple of minutes later they emerged from behind a suit of armor. Albus surveyed the area. “This is the second floor, Charms corridor, isn’t it?” Scorpius nodded. “Neat. A shortcut.”

Title: Teach Me

“Why are you the only person who understands Scorpius’s code?” Rose Weasley asked her cousin.
Albus Severus Potter shrugged. “That’s the way we like it.” He paused. “Honestly, I thought you would have figured it out by now.”
Rose frowned. “I’ve tried. It seems like you are constantly changing what things mean.” She paused. “It’s not fair to the rest of us that you keep it a secret.” Her frown deepened and she sighed. “I’d really like to have conversations with just him. I don’t feel like I know him at all.”
“That’s nonsense. You know him very well.” Albus rolled his eyes; Rose was being ridiculous.
“I don’t even know his favorite color.”
“Green.”
“Or his birth date.”
“June seventh.”
“Or how he feels about being in Gryffindor instead of Slytherin like the rest of his family.”
“He loves it.”
Rose sighed again. “It’s just not the same hearing it from you.”
“”Well, you can ask him yourself if you want. I can interpret for you,” Albus offered.
“That sort of defeats the purpose. I’d still be hearing it all through an Albus filter.”
“‘Albus filter’?” Albus quoted, one eyebrow raised. Rose nodded and the brunet sighed, exasperated. “What do you want me to do about it?”
“Teach me to understand him.”
Albus frowned now. “I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Scorpius doesn’t want me to teach his own father, do you really think he’d be ok with me teaching you?” Albus sighed again. “You’ll have to ask him first. I won’t teach anyone without his permission.”
Rose perked up some. “I will ask him. Where is he anyways?”
“The library. Working on his Charms essay.”
Rose eyed him suspiciously. “Shouldn’t you be doing yours too?”
