The sun began to set in the distance as Narcissa stared out into the grounds of Malfoy Manor. She played with her hair idly as she thought about her current situation, and was thankful that her heart was no longer racing.

Not fifteen minutes ago had she walked in on her husband and her sister kissing passionately, looking as though neither of them even knew she existed. She wasn't sure if they'd seen her, she'd just left the room in shock and came down to the parlour, wondering what to do. After several minutes of pacing up and down, she'd finally settled on letting the scene outside calm her.

"Narcissa, my dear."

Narcissa turned around; Lucius was stood in front of her with a coy smile on his face. It appeared evident that he hadn't a clue that she'd seen him and Bellatrix together. "What?"

Lucius raised his eyebrows. "Something wrong?"

"Yes there's something wrong," Narcissa snapped. "I think there's something very wrong when my husband thinks it's perfectly all right to kiss my sister!"

"Oh." Lucius looked composed, an unusual reaction all things considering, but Lucius always had been one to keep his emotions under wraps. "You saw."

"Indeed." Narcissa sucked on her cheek in an attempt to control her anger. "How long has it been going on?"

"Six weeks," replied Lucius quietly. "My apologies, Narcissa. I will end it immediately. Now, would you care for a spot of tea?"

Narcissa's jaw dropped. "Are you serious? You actually think we're going to be okay now you've apologised?"

"I saw I would finish it."

"So? You still betrayed me! You still cheated on me! This is not acceptable, Lucius, and I will not stand for it." Narcissa's voice rose as she spoke, unable to keep calm any longer.

"You're young, Narcissa. These things happen, and then we move on. It's not the end of the world." Lucius took off his outer robe and placed it carefully on the sofa. "I was thinking we should eat out tonight, what do you say?"

"I say no," said Narcissa through gritted teeth. "And don't you think you're getting in my bed any time soon. I don't want you anywhere near me until I'm ready to forgive you, and believe me, that may be quite some time." She stormed passed him, slamming the parlour door behind her and meeting Bellatrix as she climbed the stairs.

"Cissy, dear," cooed Bellatrix. "You look positively outraged. Anything the matter?"

Narcissa didn't even want to speak to Bellatrix right now, ignoring her as she reached the top of the stairs. But no, Bellatrix wasn't having any of that, chasing after her and placing an arm around her shoulders as though she were the ever caring sister.

"You can tell me," smiled Bellatrix, tapping her nose. "I can keep a secret."

Narcissa let out a little laugh. "Oh yes you can. Tell me, how hard is it to keep secret the fact that you're seeing my husband behind my back?"

Unlike Lucius, Bellatrix was unable to hold her composure, and appeared to go through several emotions before she decided to settle on being upset and wanting forgiveness. "Oh, Cissy, I am sorry. It was just a stupid mistake. It only happened the once."

"Once, you say?" asked Narcissa, narrrowing her eyes and folding her arms. "So you started the affair today, did you?"

"Well, no," said Bellatrix, biting her lip. "Okay, it's a little longer than that, but it's over now. I won't see him anymore. For you."

"For me? You sound as though you expect me to be grateful for that, Bella." Narcissa leant back against the wall and watched as Bellatrix flustered around, unsure of how to go about responding.

"No, of course not. I just... was trying to be nice. Out of concern for you." Bellatrix offered a meagre smile, but Narcissa wasn't reciprocating.

"You didn't appear so concerned for me earlier this evening when you were in a passionate embrace with my husband!" Narcissa shouted, causing Lucius to exit the parlour and see what was going on.

"Now, now, Cissy," said Lucius darkly. "I know you're angry, but there's no need to raise your voice quite so loudly. I do believe Bella still has the use of her ears."

Rolling her eyes Narcissa stormed off down the corridor and entered her bedroom, kicking the door shut behind her. She cast both a silencing spell and locking charm on the door, and then unleashed her anger by screaming as loudly as she could. She threw pillows and cushions around, knocked over Lucius's bedside table and smiled in satisfaction as his things went cascading across the floor.

She knew she'd have to clean everything up before she left the room again, but right now, she really didn't care. She couldn't believe Lucius had the audacity to basically say she was blowing it all out of proportion! Her mother might have been perfectly content for her husband to play away, but Narcissa wasn't going to allow that in her own house, and she swore that as long as she lived, she was going to make Lucius suffer for what he'd done.

And then there was Bellatrix, who had seemed as though she was holding back anger towards Narcissa for catching them. It was unbelievable, and first thing tomorrow morning she was sending her sister back to Rodolphus Lestrange. Bellatrix's summer break was now over, and it would be a long time before she was allowed back into the manor again.

A very long time indeed, for as much as Narcissa was a forgiving woman, they'd taken full advantage of that fact, and that's what hurt her the most. In a few months everything would probably be back to normal, but right now, she was determined to make the both of them very sorry for their actions.

Very sorry indeed.
