Just curious- so the difference between here and sugarquill is that fics there don't have to be written in thirty minutes or for a challenge? (sorry for obvious question, just wanted clarification)
Yup, basically it comes down to that! At SQ you can write/draw anything under the sun related to HP. It doesn't have to be for a challenge or written in a set amount of time (except for Saturday Specials). WB is structured to help relieve writer's block, and so authors will need to respond to a challenge and write a fic in half an hour (honour system).
I hope this answers your question; don't hesitate to ask more :)
(At least I know now that if I end up going past the half-hour requirement here, I still have somewhere I can post what I've done. Deadlines are not my strong suit *facepalm*)
It's interesting, because I like the prompts here better, but the less structured format there is easier for me, lol. I'll probably end up bouncing back and forth. When I start writing. *ponders*
Haha! I know what you mean about the deadline thing~
But I find that once you think about WB in a condensed NaNo way, it does seem feasible. Like NaNo, I think it's perfectly fine that you plan your idea out first and then take half an hour to write it. That's writing alone in 30 minutes - editing for grammar etc and planning time doesn't have to be in that 30 minutes :)
I feel, personally, that SQ and WB exist to complement each other, so bounce back and forth all you want! It's meant to be :)
