Title: A Day in the Life
Summary: Ficlet Challenge 6, a Slytherin girl other than Pansy
Characters/Pairings: Millicent Bulstrode
Rating/Warnings: G
Word Count: 483

Millicent whipped around, seeing Hermione Granger standing behind her. "What do YOU want?" The Slytherin girl sneered, not understanding how that explosion of hair was possible.

"Oh!" Hermione looked startled. "Nothing, I'm sorry I bumped into you."

Millicent looked down at the Gryffindor. "Whatever." She turned, her hair whipping around and stalked off down the hall. That strange girl was up to something, and she knew it. Stalking off down the hall, she shoved some Ravenclaw that was in her way and glaring at them in the process. Millicent wasn't exactly the nicest girl on a good day, but when she was upset she was even nastier. As the Ravenclaw fell to the side, Millicent heard the girl crash into something, which was a very pleasing sound. Stalking into the dungeons she went directly to her room. There she saw the beautiful black cat curled up on her bed. The cat opened one eye and purred as Millicent's hand stroked her back gently. "Keeping everything under control, Isis?"

As if in response, the cat purred louder then stretched luxuriously. Isis moved up towards the pillow and sat primly and groomed a paw. No dull moments in the life of a cat.

Title: Pirates?
Summary: Ficlet challenge 15, interacting with the outside world OR Ron gets to see Muggle Halloween
Characters/Pairings: Ron Weasley, Hermione Weasley, showing by Rose Weasley
Rating/Warnings: G
Word Count: 490

"So, explain this to me again."

Hermione pulled the tiny boots up on Rose's feet. "For Muggles, they treat Halloween like holiday similar to Christmas or Easter. They dress up like something they're not perhaps something from a movie, book, tv show, a sports player, whatever they choose. Then they go door to door saying "trick or treat" and are given candy." Rose started squealing and waving her hands and feet around happily and Hermione scooped her up laughing. "And you're going to be a very nice little pirate, too!"

Ron continued to look baffled. Quickly Hermione went back to explain the transition of the day from old wizarding times to Muggle assimilation to the event that it was today. "And that, Ronald, is why you can go about in a Hogwarts uniform tonight and most people will be none the wiser!" She smiled brilliantly and placed a tricornered hat on Rose, who seemed quite pleased for all the attentions she was receiving on her first Halloween.

Continuing to be confused, Ron shrugged his shoulders. He went back into the kitchen and looked at the big bowl of candy. "'Mione? Where are the chocolate frogs? Ice mice? Blood pops?"

"Those are WIZARDING treats, Ron. These are Muggle children." Even from a room away she could hear him all but deflate. "Look in the cupboard by the fridge on the top shelf. If there is anything, you'll find it there." Of course she knew there were a few things hiding for him on purpose. Offering candy Ron wasn't sure about (thought he generally liked it all) was simply not fair. Well, according to Ron it wasn't fair.

After finding some every flavour beans, only one of which was disguisting, Ron returned to Hermione and Rose. He scooped up the baby and held her close just as the doorbell rang.

Hermione ran to the door and was clearly just as excited as the children. "TRICK OR TREAT!" yelled the kids outside who were holding open pillow cases full of various candies. Ron came around the corner with the candy bowl which Hermione had forgotten in her excitement. She plucked the bowl from Ron's hands and offered the children the treat of their choice. Rose was nearly asleep at this point, but hearing one of the girls coo at her she woke right back up to be interactive.

Soon enough the children had moved on to the next house while Ron inquired about all their costumes. "Wait. No seriously, wait. You're telling me the girl in the white sheet was a ghost? How does that work? She looked nothing like Nearly Headless Nick! Nor did it look like ANY of the Hogwarts ghosts. That's just daft."

"Ron," she began again, somehow still calm. "They're Muggle children. They've never seen a real ghost before. On top of that, I'd guess that that last group was all too young to have gotten letters anyway!"

"Muggles," Ron sighed and shook his head, still confused.
