Ah. That explained the mingled waves of regret and rage echoing at me. I took a rattling breath.
Nagini cringed at the sound.
It’s alright now. I stroked a finger gently down her scales. We evil familiars have to stick together, you know.
Nagini’s nose bumped mine affectionately.
Heartwarming, Quirinus. Now, both of you, sleep.
