Title: Shed Thoughts
Summary: It's not sulking if there's a legitimate reason. [For mandyloo, who gave me the prompt "sore losers". Can also be read here.]
Characters/Pairings: Oliver/Katie
Genre: Gen, humour
Rating/Warnings: G/none
Medium: ficlet
Word Count: 197

Technically, technically, Oliver is not a sore loser.

Sure he's sore, from Quidditch and flying a broom without a Cushioning Charm (he'll have to go after the twins for removing it and then hiding his wand), but he's not a loser.

It's not that Oliver's being petty or anything; he's lost plenty of times before, which isn't the best of things, but he takes his frustrations out on the Pitch or in the showers, and sooner or later he's fine.

It's just that, strictly speaking, Oliver did not lose, because Katie cheated. She can call it anything she wants, namely "strategy", but she did not win fair and square and Oliver knows it and he told her and she laughed and that is why he's now in the shed at the bottom of their garden having a moment.

Not sulking, mind.

It's up to her if she thinks feigning a twisted ankle means that it's all right to "win" the race from the gate to the front door. Oliver will remain with his dignity and integrity intact and pretend that he did not slide on his arse after trying to scramble after Katie and her laughing smile.

Title: Five O'Clock
Summary: The sun ain't the only thing that's coming up. A never-ending party ends for Charlie as he goes up to their bedroom to wait. [For c_hrista, who gave me the pairings and the prompt "5 O'Clock" by T-Pain (feat. Lily Allen & Wiz Khalifa). I used the hook, mostly XD Can also be read here]
Characters/Pairings: Charlie/James, mention of Ron/Christa
Genre: Romance
Rating/Warnings: G/none
Medium: ficlet
Word Count: 209

It's early but too late for Charlie, so he stumbles upstairs in the dark, the goofy grin still on his face, the one that always earns a pinch to the cheek from his mother. He doesn't notice the silhouettes outside the rooms as they slip inside with murmured whispers. He loses count of the number of times he sees red hair threaded through with fingers. The grin doesn't go away even when there's Ron and Christa at the top of the stairs making out, even when Christa blushes and hides her face, even when Ron flips him his middle finger and drags the laughing girl back to his room.

It's almost light out but it's still dark in their room, the curtains drawn over the window, the bedsheets mussed up from hours and hours before. The mattress feels comfortable against his cheek, his bare stomach, cool and soft and drowning out the music from floors below.

It's dreamy but real when he hears the quiet creaking of the floorboards and suddenly the mattress feels hot and the room small, and he shivers despite the blood rush as James's lips press softly on the skin right in the middle of his shoulder blades, and scarred denim rubs against his back.

Title: In The Now
Summary: "You-- you alone-- will have the stars as no one else has them." -Antoine de Saint-Exupery. A quiet moment with Remus and Tonks. No dialogue. [Written for native_spirit. Fits ficlet challenge #41.]
Characters/Pairings: Remus/Tonks
Genre: Romance
Rating/Warnings: G/none
Medium: ficlet
Word Count: 193

They lean on each other's shoulders, the werewolf and the shape-shifter. Outcasts in a way, similar yet different, connected by the brush of their pinkie fingers.

They don't speak. Her hair contentedly changes from blue to green to pink to brown as the sun sets. His eyes shift to take in the landscape, and then turn themselves onto her face, lit up, golden, beautiful.

They remain outside on the bench outside the Burrow. It's quiet out here, except for the muffled noises from the Weasley home. Their breaths come out soft, sighing, in sync with the other's.

Night falls, and takes the sun with it. Her face is muted now, pale with the tiniest glimpse of moonlight. His scars are shadowed almost tenderly in the dark, much less harsh now that there's no sunlight cutting his skin.

They talk. About the future, about the present, about the past. He makes her laugh, and she makes him smile. They swap stories, tell jokes, argue. They squeeze in anything and everything except the war that's on the horizon, looming to take this away.

They sit in the garden, and he promises her the stars.
