Title: Neville
Summary: Neville before Hogwarts
Characters/Pairings: Neville Longbottom
Genre: General, angst
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

He had always disappointed his family. Both his parents had strong magic, and everyone expected that he would be the same. They watched and waited for him to show some sign of it.

Neville waited too, waited and hoped for something to happen. He didn't have to be a powerful wizard, or a skilled one, or a brave one. He just needed not to be a Squib.

His aunts and uncles tutted over him. Gran said nothing, but sometimes he caught her watching him with an assessing look in her eye. But still, nothing happened.

And then one day... One day, he bounced.

Title: Ginny
Summary: Ginny post-CoS
Characters/Pairings: Ginny Weasley
Genre: General, angst
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

Every time she closes her eyes she sees his face, hears his voice. His cold laughter echoes in her mind. She is never alone.

Everyone has been very kind. They say it wasn't her fault, that she couldn't have stopped it, but she remembers the blood on her hands. She tried, once she realised what was happening, tried to stop, tried to tell someone, but nothing worked. She fought him, but she couldn't win.

Now she lies awake at night, staring wide-eyed into the darkness. Sleeplessness is better than the dreams that haunt her. She fears that she will never be free.

Title: Lupin
Summary: Remus thinks about Tonks
Characters/Pairings: Remus Lupin
Genre: General, romance
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

He's still not sure how it happened. He's known her since she was a child, watched her tag along after Sirius, stumbling to keep up. He remembers James showing her his stolen Snitch, how she laughed to watch him release it and catch it over and over, then changed her hair to the same golden hue.

As a woman grown she still has that same sense of whimsy, that same desire to be in the thick of things, the corners of her eyes crinkling as she smiles.

He's not sure when he first knew that he loved her, but he knows why.

Title: Ron
Summary: Ron before a Quidditch match
Characters/Pairings: Ron Weasley
Genre: General, angst
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

Ron crumbles a piece of toast slowly in his hands. He can't do this. He'll fall off his broom, or let through every goal, or possibly both at once. Or worse. He's going to be sick.

The entire school will be watching the game. They'll all see him fail. He'll be a laughing stock. Weasley, the world's worst goalkeeper. What was he thinking, signing up for this?

Harry, sitting across from him, gives him an encouraging smile, and he feels it again; that sudden intense longing to be special, famous, good at everything. He closes his eyes, and wishes things were different.

Title: Charlie
Summary: Charlie Weasley thinks about his life
Characters/Pairings: Charlie Weasley
Genre: General
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

Charlie had always been different. As a kid, he was happiest playing with the gnomes in the garden, or teaching tricks to his rat. At Hogwarts he spent most of his free time in the Owlery. Sure, he had friends, but somehow he preferred the company of animals. They were simple, loyal, no deceptions, just friendship.

And dragons... dragons were amazing. He loved their sweet, earthy smell, their inquisitive eyes, the way they would tilt their wings to shade him from the sun's glare or nuzzle against him in search of a treat. He wouldn't trade his life for the world.

Title: Petunia
Summary: What it's like being Lily's sister
Characters/Pairings: Petunia Dursley
Genre: General, angst
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

They've always been different, Lily and Tuney. Lily is bright, vibrant, whirling red hair and a glowing smile. Tuney is plain and quiet. She blends into the background, unnoticed, uninteresting.

Lily has lots of friends. She's never alone; there's always someone for her to talk to when she wants to whisper secrets or giggle over something funny. Tuney eats lunch by herself, reading a book.

And now, Lily has something else that Tuney doesn't: she can do magic. There's a whole school full of people waiting to meet her. Tuney tries to be happy for her sister, but inside, she's quietly screaming.

Title: Mother
Summary: Luna Lovegood's mother
Characters/Pairings: Luna's mum
Genre: General
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

She's always been a dreamer. Wanting to know more, to go further, to see things no one has seen before. Xenophilius is the same: they research together, learning about the world around them, seeing things that they had never even imagined.

She's been working on something new, something big. She can see it in her mind's eye, the magic working in perfect, synchronous harmony. She can see it, but she can't quite make it work.

Xeno's worried; she looks tired, he says. She's working too hard. But she just needs to try harder, go further. It's so close, she can feel it.

Title: Ollivander's
Summary: Ollivander in his shop
Characters/Pairings: Ollivander
Genre: General
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

Wand making's in the blood, you know. Ollivanders have been wand-makers for generations, the skills and knowledge handed down from father to son. Which woods go best with which cores. The right way to cure dragon heartstrings. How if you listen closely, you can hear the best woods sing.

It's a dying art. Kids these days are more interested in the flash-bang, the showy stuff. Wand-makers are craftsmen, artisans. You can't just throw any old thing together and expect it to cast good spells. Knowing what you're doing, that's the key.

You seem a likely lad. How would you like to learn?

Title: The Fat Friar
Summary: What it's like being a ghost
Characters/Pairings: The Fat Friar
Genre: General
Beta: None
Rating/Warnings: G
Medium: Drabble
Word Count: 100

I miss the old days, sometimes. Being able to taste food, for one thing. How do you think I got so fat?

But it's not a bad life. Death. There are plenty of other ghosts here at Hogwarts, so it's impossible to feel lonely. And being the ghost of the friendliest house means that there are always students to talk to. The first-years are the best, all wide-eyed and curious. Many of them have never even seen a ghost before, can you imagine?

Still, I'm not sure that I wouldn't give it all up for a taste of something from the kitchens.
