Summary: 25 Haikus for Challenge #6

1. Gilderoy Lockhart
Made the ladies swoon and drool
With his charming smile.
2. He had many fans,
He was the number one star.
He had everything.
3. He wrote many books
Describing his adventures
In faraway lands.
4. But he wanted more.
When Dumbledore called him up,
He quickly said yes.
5. The job of teaching
Defense Against the Dark Arts
Was what he needed.
6. He'd heard it was cursed,
But he was sure to succeed,
For he was a star.
7. The students were scared,
He was sure it was Hagrid
Behind the attacks.
8. But with Hagrid gone,
A girl was taken inside
By Slytherin's heir.
9. To his huge surprise,
The professors turned to him
To bring the girl back.
10. He was terrified,
He didn't know what to do
So he chose to leave.
11. But before he left,
Potter and Weasley showed up
And took him with them.
12. He was terrified,
He had never faced danger,
He was just a fraud.
13. Pushed down the tunnel,
He fell miles under the school
Into the Chamber.
14. He picked up the wand,
Performed a memory charm
But it backfired.
15. Now he knows nothing
About his glorious past
Or about magic.
16. Neville was brought up
By his severe grandmother,
Without his parents.
17. They had been tortured
To madness with crucio
By Bella Lestrange.
18. Feared to be a Squib,
Neville was always tested
For magic powers.
19. These tests were extreme,
But he managed to survive
And that gave them hope.
20. The letter arrived
And proved he was a wizard,
Making him happy.
21. The Sorting Hat chose
And put him in Gryffindor
With Harry Potter.
22. He shared the room with
Seamus, Dean, Ron and Harry
And felt less alone.
23. At first it was hard,
Because he was forgetful
And very clumsy.
24. Snape frightened him most
And Potions classes scared him;
They always went wrong.
25. But eventually,
Neville showed his great courage
And killed Nagini.
