"I...love it," Heidi proclaimed, "It's fresh, it's modern, but it looks like it would be very comfortable as well."
"It does. Like I would want to snuggle up in bed wearing it," Nina agreed.
"But in one of those beds for a photo shoot," Michael said, as he nodded, "It would look absolutely fabulous in a shoot."
Molly beamed at the judges from the runway, standing next to her model who was wearing a long-sleeved sweater dress with a large V knitted on the front of it. "Oh, thank you, thank you. I thought Valeria would look absolutely darling in a jumper like this."
Nina smiled and nodded, "She does, she really does."
"And the color is absolutely stunning on her," Michael noted. "The green goes perfectly with her complexion."
Molly smiled up at the girl, patting her arm lightly. "Oh, well, she's a red-head, just like all my children. I've gotten very used to dressing plenty of red-heads by now."
The judges laugh and nod - clearly Molly is in line to win this challenge.

Ron's not sure how he got roped into a designing competition. He didn't even know what looked good, let alone how to make anything. He started with a length of fabric that was a hideous light blue color. Aiming his wand rather haphazardly, he started cutting the sheet into a robe-like pattern. After a few minutes, he held the piece up in front of him. It kind of looked like a robe, he guessed, but it was flat. There was no where to put your arms or your head. How was he supposed to make this wearable? Suddenly, an idea popped into his head! He had no more of the blue fabric, so he grabbed a sheet of pink that was lying near him. He placed the blue robe-shape on top of the pink fabric and cut along the outline. Now he had two flat robes and all he need to do was stitch them together and someone could wear it! Though he was sure no one would ever want to wear it.

"Well, I can certainly see myself in that outfit," Heidi said with a slight smile.
"Oh of course, I designed it after the title for my latest book Man in the Mirror: A Struggle to Find Out Who I am," Lockhart said with great pride.
"The challenge was to design a dress that would compliment Shakespeare's storytelling for A Midsummer Night's Dream. It was not to find the best uses for reflexive fabric." Zac stated as he stared down Gilderoy.
Lockhart continued to defend his reflexive garment, making the judges wonder how he was able to make it to the top two in the competition.

Lavender stood on the runway wringing her hands. Parvati, her model, stood beside her, wearing the 1920s style dress she had been forced to make using only recycled pieces of clothing from her own wardrobe. She thought it looked nice, and Madam Malkin, their mentor, had said it was stunning, but what mattered the most was what the judges thought.
To her left stood Dobby’s model (wearing an outfit made from socks and knitted hats), Hermione’s model (wearing some drab thing made from an old robe), Luna’s model (what was she wearing?), and Bellatrix’s model (who looked like a goth reject). Lavender stuck her nose in the air. She had to be better than the rest of them, she just had to be. Being a designer was all she had ever wanted!
The Judges were studying her outfit. Lucius kept his face expressionless. Umbridge gave a small smile (which was a relief, as she was easily the harshest judge), Snape looked disgusted (but he always did), and their guest judge, Dumbledore, look positively delighted.
“Lavender,” said Lucius after they had critiqued her look, “You…are in.”
Relief washed over her and she skipped from the runway. Off to the next challenge!

Lavender was an avid watcher of Project Runway: Fashion is Magic and she would tell anyone who would stop long enough to listen to her that one day she would win the title. She'd been training since her mum taught her how to charm her first needle. She could wandstitch with the best of them and she had a vision, okay? She had a vision and she was fashion forward and one day, everyone would hear the name Lavender Brown and be awed at her talent.
When Tim Gunn had apparated to her front door and invited her onto season 15, she hadn't even hesitated. Her neighbors could still recount her epic scream to this day. She didn't care what it took; she was going to make it work.

"It was good while it lasted," The judge says, looking at Hermione forlornly. Hermione looks down, her eyes starting to water as she feels her hands slowly slip from where Ginny was grasping them tightly. Hermione wants to look away, wants to look at Ginny to believe, but she can't make herself do it.
"Hermione, I am sorry--" The judge starts, only to stop and gulp as the rest of the girls cry and Ginny fakes it. Ginny had been one of those people who people were jealous of -- her looks, her beauty, her hair, how the guys flaunted after her. Even Hermione had been jealous -- knowing full well that Ginny knew it. Even when Ginny 'befriended' her, she was still being sabotaged and she knows that this past challenge will be her last. This causes the tears to finally fall, slowly, and she shakes her head, unable to believe she's sad about doing something that Harry joked she should do.
"I am sorry Hermione, but you're going to have to say goodbye to Ginny, as she's going to be leaving now," The judge says and Hermione feels the breath leave her body, the tears fall down her cheeks. She shakes her head, looks straight up at Ginny and smiles.

"Miss Lovegood, please explain your garment for us."
Luna nodded and looked over to her model, who wore nothing but a toga made of floral sheets. "The theme was vintage, and I've always loved the pretty floral look of old curtains. Plus, the ancient Romans used to wear these all the time. Everything about it fits the theme, and I think it's quite lovely," her airy, calm voice said in an almost musical tone.
Luna smiled at the judges and then looked at everyone else's avant-garde, fluffy, giant elaborate pieces. Taking in everyone else's final products in, she just grinned and faced the judges with confidence. Yeah, she had this in the bag.

Blaise Zabini had finally found his calling. The pureblood Slytherin had been a successful student at Hogwarts if always in the shadows but then his Head of House, Horace Slughorn, tipped him off to a new opportunity: the Muggle 'fellyvision' show Project Runway would have a wizarding spinoff. And Blaise, being so talented at posing, was a natural for the spot. Needless to say, when the show came, he easily won first place!

Hermione was getting very competitive, almost worryingly so. As Ron and Harry watched her, she was furiously stitching together pieces of fabric with magic and muttering incantations and every time one of them tried to catch her attention with an encouraging wave or smile, she would glare angrily at them and go back to work. Also competing were Pansy Parkinson and Lavender Brown, and by the way that Lavender and Hermione were scowling at each other every so often, it was certain that this was about way more than the immediate competition before them.
When the dresses were displayed, they were spectacular, of course. Pansy was complimented on her choice of colours to represent the ocean (the theme), Lavender was praised on the way she had charmed the fabric to look like shimmering waves and Hermione was praised on her technical ability. As the judges deliberated however, there was a surprise entry - the giant squid had seen fit to collaborate with Hagrid to put in an entry and a large tentacle dress, modelled by Hagrid himself, was entered into the competition. Nobody knew whether to be impressed or horrified at the particular shine of the material, or the trail of slime it left down the catwalk, but the judges raved about it and instantly made their decision. The tentacle dress was a runaway success.
The following day, a grumpy Hermione and a rather amused Ron and Harry sat on the shore of the great lake, watching the Giant Squid toss a large trophy from tentacle to tentacle.

"I don't know HOW you talked me into this. I look utterly ridiculous, and this bloody outfit doesn't even fit."
"Nonsense, my dear boy, it's supposed to be this tight. Besides, you told me last month you need to get new clothes."
"I didn't mean this! I look like Liberace. And how did you get them to agree with this? I am not exactly anyone's idea of the perfect model."
"Liberace was a fabulous dresser, Severus, stop complaining. And whyever not? You've certainly got the power stride down, and I daresay you've perfected the art of dramatic entrances."
"THAT DOES NOT MEAN I CAN DO THIS!"
"There is no need to shout, my boy. They only need you for this one episode. Besides, you look dashing in this suit, it's very well made for a Project Runway designer."
"Albus Dumbledore, this is the last time I let you guilt me into anything."
"Right, right, your displeasure is noted. Now, off to hair and makeup with you."
...
"EXCUSE ME?!"

"Out of sweets?" Ron gasped, eyes bugging out as soon as their challenge had been revealed.
"That should be fun," Luna said beside him, serene as she sucked on a blood lolly. "You know Sugarquill is made out of spun sugar, so I'm sure we can work with the same material."
"Spun sugar, how does that even--" Ron started to ask, but Luna had already flittered over to the spinning wheel, fingers deft as they wove the sugar into silk right before his very eyes.
"Bloody hell," Ron murmured, grabbing a bag of Every Flavour Beans and a needle. Perhaps he could thread them together...

Draco looked around the room, inspecting the clothing the other Project Runway contestants were wearing. Some of them - most of them, actually - looked so... well, scraggly, if Draco was perfectly honest. This one bloke was wearing a knit hat that was clearly too big for his head, a white tshirt that Draco suspected was intended to be worn by young children, and tight, ripped up jeans. He looked down at his own outfit, a three piece suit with fitted, denim jeans instead of trousers (at Pansy's request). He was beginning to wonder how he'd even been accepted to be a contestant on this silly show in the first place. 'Muggles have no sense of fashion' he thought to himself. And then he realized, 'that's exactly why I was chosen. To teach them a thing or two.' He smiled and began introducing himself to his castmates.

The Final Five
It was down to the final five. Only four of them would go on to make their own collections that would grace the runway during International Fashion Day.
He looked at his competitors: Hermione Granger, who had been knitting magically and muggle-y practically since birth; Luna Lovegood, the most creative, out-of-the-box thinker he knew; Hannah Abbott, who was surprisingly apt in her skill and had made some of the most beautiful creations of the competition; and Ginny Weasley, who seemed to survive on pure determination alone.
And then there he was. How he had made it this far, he honestly wasn’t sure. But Neville had a feeling his luck was soon going to end.
Professor McGonagall took the runway in front of them.
“For our last challenge,” McGonagall began, “We want to see an outfit that represents you and your unique viewpoint.”
She paused, smirking a little, as the contestants murmured happily.
“Oh, but wait,” McGonagall continued. “You know it is never that easy. No, for this challenge, you may only use items from the garden! No extra cloth allowed!”
Neville blinked in shock. A plant challenge! Now this he could do! Maybe he wasn’t out of this after all!
