Fall Break and whatnot

So, Fall break. It was interesting. We, meaning my dad, younger brother, and myself, left Williamsburg by about noon to get to the airport in Richmond. From there we flew to JFK, where we were met by a driver to take us to the bed and breakfast in Brooklyn that we were staying in (it was a block from my cousin's house and thus convienient). That night my father made about a million racist remarks at my second cousin's rehearsal dinner, causing my other cousin (the first mentioned)'s husband, Seth, to decide we couldn't take the subway home and had to take a cab. The next day we were super lazy really, and then my dad hustled me to the Yale Club where my second cousin, Byrd, was having her wedding. My dad decided to visit a museum because we were early and there was nothing to do but wait. He is a jerk sometimes. The wedding was splendid, and I had a good time-though I wished I had a partner who could swing dance, as they played a lot of big band stuff and I was left trying to lead my 12 year old cousin Eliza, whom I had never met before this.

Fast-forward to sunday evening. We returned to Richmond at about 7 to find my dad's right front tire flat. My brother and I put on the spare to find that it was flat as well. My dad takes forever to call a tow-truck, completely ignoring my thoughts to leave the car there-rent one of the many available at the airport, and drive it back later to get my dad's car. 2 hours later we rent a car-my dad insists this was a cops idea. Get home at 2 am, knowing I had to wake up at 7:30 to go to a doctors appointment. Go to said doctor's appointment. Find out the cronic sinus infections I've been having have been causing me to go deaf. Freak out like whoa in the doctor's office. Come home. Clean out an art supply closet at the middle school for community service hours (I have never seen so much violet paint in my entire life). Come back to Williamsburg at about 10 pm because my mother had to wait on a guy to check out the furnace in order to give us an estimate on a new one. I should be finishing a midterm paper that is due tomorrow. Screw that.
