There's nothing worse in the world than knowing someone you care for so much, is completely miserable.
Knowing that it's your fault in some way, and yet, not knowing anyway to make it any better. No matter what you do, what you try. And yet you keep on trying, to no avail. And are determined to keep on trying. Mike was right: not caring is the worst. Actually, that's a lie. Caring so much that it hurts, but then being dissmissed by that person you care for. This is the worst. That is a sense a powerlessness that no person can ever understand. Nor should try.
