Hey, you!

Yes, you.

I see you're using Internet Explorer there. Why is that?

*polite laughter at your response*

No no friend. You have it all wrong. Internet Explorer isn't "The Internet". It's just one of many web browsers you can use to surf the web. Would you like to hear about one of your other choices?

*nods slowly*

I see. Well how bout this. I will ask you a few questions and then based on your answers you can decide if you would like to give it a try.

Question 1. Do you like to surf the internet?

A1. Yes. (Go to question 2)
A2. No. (You likely should be working then, shouldn't you?)

****
Question 2. Wouldn't you like to be able to surf around the web knowing that you're safe from all the spyware, malware, adware, and attackware that some nefarious websites try to install on your computer, sometimes even without your knowledge?

A1. Wow, that sounds great! (Well in Firefox 3 you will be almost totally protected from all of that. Something Internet Explorer can't do. Not only that, but no website will be able to install anything on your computer without your full knowledge and consent. Go to question 3.)
A2. No. I like all the bad things spyware does to my computer. (Then you my friend, are a moron.)

****
Question 3. Are you scared that someone is going to try to steal your personal information online?

A1. Uh-huh (Firefox 3 automatically blocks known attack sites, giving you the chance to get away before you even visit them. Also with new security controls you can be absolutely certain it really is Amazon, or Paypal you are visiting before giving out your personal information. Go to question 4.)
A2. Identity theft isn't real, it's just a scare tactic. (Todd Davis the CEO of Lifelock who gave out his Social Security number incautiously would like to have a word with you.)

****
Question 4. Would you like to never see another ad on the internet again? How about download all those precious family pictures on a website with a single click? Maybe you would like to be notified when you got new yahoo, gmail, hotmail, or dozens of others of webmail accounts right in your browser.

A1. Wow! (With Firefox 3 you can do all these things and more through the power of addons. Chances are if you can think of it, there's an addon out there that will do it.)
A2. Sounds too complicated for me. (Not at all. It's built right into Firefox 3. All it takes is a few clicks and you'll have your very first addon.)

This doesn't even begin to skim the surface of all the great new features of Firefox 3. If you're reluctant to try something new, you can always download it, try it for a week or so, and if you don't like it just go back to what you're using now. However, I'm betting once you discover something as simple as the awesome bar, you'll be hooked.
