work drama
first off, let me start by saying that i know it's a petty thing but if i can't go around buying food in costume, no one else should too (if i can help it :P)
so it was either tuesday or thursday when these two ppl came in line. the first one bought two cones, both seperately, both with her cm id. no problem, i wasn't really paying much attention. THEN her friend started ordering and i noticed her ear peice and her radio STILL attatched to her hip. so i said that i couldn't serve her since she was still in costume, which she argued she wasn't. granted it's true since she's a manager and technically it's not a costume, so then i argued that she's on the clock. and again she said she wasn't, but then i replied that her ear piece and radio were still on. she got all huffy and they both left, backstage... to eat their ice cream. bastards. so i called ken to complain. i should mention that they're both from health services.
then saturday rolls around, we have both windows open, two 600 dollar hrs in a row, so we're fairly steady. i see this lady coming up in line, kahki pants, teal shirt underneath a black jacket.. i automatically think cm. so when she starts to order i interrupt her by asking if she's a cm. she says yes. i ask if she's in costume. she says no. i don't believe her, so i ask if she's in health services since i already had to deal with them that week, and she says yes. so i ask her again if she's in costume and she says no. of course i don't believe her, so i make her open her jacket and move the top around so i can see her shirt. she moves it a little, so i ask her to move it all the way to the side, and what do i see?? her name tag. so i told her i couldn't serve her and she starts to argue that her manager told her that if she put a jacket on she could buy ice cream. and i said that's not true. and she argued that she's off duty, and i said tough luck, you're in costume. so she got all huffy and left. then our line continued on, and when it finally slowed down i got on the phone to call health services. i asked to talk to a lead or manager, and i at least identified myself. whoever i talked to never gave me her name. so i started off by saying again that i'm not allowed to sell ice cream to cm's in costume, and that i already dealt with them that same week and to please spread the word to everyone working that's it not gonna happen. then the lady got all huffy and said that i have an attitude and that she didn't appreciate me harrasing her nurse and making her move her jacket around because i "discriminate against nurses and ppl wearing teals" and my reply was that it just proves that she lied to me and that she was in costume! and besides that, i discrimate against everyone.. in costume who try to buy from me! then she wanted to talk to my lead and when i said i was the lead, she said she would talk to my manager, and that i should be sorry because soon i'll have no job because we're gonna close due to lack of business. riiiiight... so i said whatever and she hung up on me.
i called vicky to warn her of the problem i might've caused her, she starts laughing because the nurses were stupid. then i guess later that night the food ops left a message for vicky about the whole situtaion. the lady sounded like she was kinda laughing because she realizes how stupid the nurses were too. vicky promised to email them the resort policy about buying food in costume. so that was my drama
crystal had her own on that day. she got gyped out of 100 dollars, and granted she shouldn't have fallen for it, but by the time i was changed and ready to leave, vicky found me and got me to walk up to catch. i was gonna try and be an under-cover cop. lemme just say.. i suck. so i get up to catch, i follow the ppl around as best as i could, i watch them go into a shop, then i go inside to "browse" and i see the first guy who was in on the con, so i kinda followed him around the store but i lost the lady who came back to claim her money. then i keep trying to call the office but since crystal is so busy talking to vicky she never picks up, so i walk back to catch since it looked like the little girl with the guy was still shopping. by the time i get back, i lost them all :( so vicky comes, we talk to security and they said they'd keep an eye out but since i never actually saw the two groups merge, they couldn't do anything unless they pulled the con again.
