As you all know, last night I saw HBP. I was hoping to get this review up after the movie last night, but unfortunately my body thought I was too sleepy to do anything. So anywho, let me just take a moment to say right now...

Hello!

I just want to ask 3 questions:

1. How did you find Bonnie's portrayal of Ginny? Did you like it?

2. How about her & Dan's chemistry together, is it believable?

3. Disregarding the fact that you have read the book, and trying to see it through a non-readers' eyes, do you think the way they've written (and also portrayed) H/G's relationship on-screen to be believable & endearing (as we find them in the book), that non-readers won't have question/doubt when they see them get married at the end of DH2?

And thanks for posting this review! I read all of it. I don't have the will power to stop myself being spoiled. LOL!

1. Yes, I did like Bonnie's portrayal of Ginny. Unfortunately, she can't help what lines she is given nor can she help the way she is directed in the movie. But for what she had to work with, I certainly enjoyed her as Ginny. Granted, I wish that Ginny had been able to be a little more brazen in the movie, but I still enjoyed every moment with Ginny.

....#2 to follow.

2. I think Dan and Bonnie's chemistry is believable. Sometimes it can appear to be a little stiff at times, but that's just because of the awkwardness that they're having to play with the characters personality and the build within the movie story line. I enjoyed getting the chance to seem them work together more. The chemistry definitely blossomed more as the movie went on. So, I imagine we'll see it grow even more in the last two movies (depending on how much shippy moments we're given, that is.)

3. To non-readers, I think their relationship will be believable. They did a fairly good job at building it up throughout the beginning of the movie, though I do wish they would've intensified some of the looks and actions to show how strongly that Harry was beginning to feel for Ginny, but given that we aren't in his head, that's really hard to see. But from the start of things, you see this attraction/spark between them and it's easy to see where it might lead to. I'm not sure if they'll be able to quite see the epilogue vision just yet. There is obviously going to have to be some more building in DH1 and DH2, but I doubt that people will be completely shocked. They left it so open at the end of this movie that you knew there wasn't an end to their relationship and that leaves me holding out hope for it.

Thanks for these!

And I do also hope that they would build up more their relationship in the last two films.

You are really an angel for doing this! Thanks a lot!

Mwah!

No problem! :) Glad to be of service. I hope that you like it as much as I do. It's just soooo nice to finally see the romance of all the canon ships being played out on screen. It may not be true to the way it is in the books, but when is it ever. They try to make it work as best as they can in order to adapt it to film. You just have to learn to view the books and films as two different entities.
